Is that still the hypothesis? I thought I had seen last that they really have no idea how summer would affect the virus.
i think that's the working (hopeful) theory, but then most of the doctors came out and said we can't say with any certainty. obviously tom hanks got it and it was in the mid 80s in australia. cases do seem to be way less in the southern hemisphere. but who knows
Its probable because the rest of the corona virusses are similar and virus families usually act alike
Athletic article about national recruiting singles out ND as a school that is hit hardest in recruiting by all this
Almost posted a couple days ago that this was going to be disastrous for nd football but I shut the hell up because it’s not that important right now. i hope you guys are doing well. I would like an update from all of you of how things are going. here, no real issues so far. Quebec is pretty much last in line in everything so the provincial government saw it coming and acted pretty quickly, we are told to stay home as much as possible. And they are already setting up new places for people to get tested and even get a bed if they are not alright. They actually dispatched the army to do this. Setting up camps like in a war zone, just in case. I still go out to the grocery store but I am very careful, I have to work to keep some money coming in but I get out and work from home if I don’t need to physically be there. i am willing to give the employees a lot of slacks if we can manage to keep this thing afloat.
Working from home, except for my wife who is working at the hospital tomorrow. Baby is sick, who knows what he has. We'll be fine. Gonna get some takeout and a growler of beer from the local brewery tonight.
I'm in goshen so Goshen Brewing. Really hoping all the good places can stay open through this. Feel awful for the Meehans and Fiddlers Hearth with this happening right before St. Patrick's Day.
Ah didn’t realize you were out in Goshen. Love Goshen Brewery. And yeah, really hoping all the local places can pull through this, but I know a number aren’t going to make it which just sucks
It’s not really important right now, I expect a lot of kids doing this and maybe thinking about staying closer to home now. it’s not really important but this will set notre dame football back.
i WFH home already and my wife is taking a break from work so she is already at home with me all the time regardless which is really nice my kids are now at home doing e-school but they are older so it's not too much of an impact not eating out has been really tough as we usually do that on weekends and not talking to people in person/church/going to run normal errands has been difficult. We've been in isolation for over a week
That’s actually one of the most normal reaction I have seen. The kid is honest about having second thoughts and it’s absolutely normal right now, this will impact so much stuff that we just don’t know(mike frank’s voice). It’s the right thing to let nd know that he might not be coming
Is this a "I'm no longer considering ND" thing? Or he's just temporarily spooked by everything going on and figuring it out thing?
He is still considering notre dame, if things improve incredibly fast I bet he comes but that is not realistic.
this would freak me out to TBH...imagine that German kid who is still in Germany and can't even come back to the US. It's better for him to be with his family in Germany during this time obviously, but what if he were at ND with everything shutdown and no way for him to get back home. That would be a very sad state to be in I've got friends who are Indian Contractors (in IT) who just got laid off and they don't know what to do. No one is hiring so they can't find a job, it's too expensive for them to keep living in the US for a long time, and it's virtually impossible to get a flight back to India and he has a wife and 2 young kids. That's a really tough situation
i always kind of laughed at the idea that our system is just one disaster away to completely break down, it’s falling into place right now and it’s not funny. Just the tip of the iceberg.
