Didn't see a thread for it. Just traded in Fallout 4 and it's downloading as I type this. Huge fan of the original games so pretty excited for this one. Getting good reviews so far too.
I have no idea if it will just be a Halo'd Doom. I'm hopeful they will keep the feel of the original though.
Playing multi now and it feels like Halo. I didn't realize Bethesda did it but I'm enjoying it, especially the story mode.
Eh, it's not bad. It's something different than what I've been playing forever. Story mode is fun too.
The guy that did all of Killer instincts music did the music for Doom. Pretty big fan. I watched streams just to hear the music. the easter eggs are great.
Yeah the music is legit. Haven't started looking for Easter eggs yet though. I assume they have plenty since its Bethseda
It’s definitely tougher than the predecessor. You cannot stop for a single second. Very limited ammo as well.
Had a blast, definitely harder than 2016 in most aspects Gordon knocked another OST out of the park again
making my way through this game has been so enjoyable. First of all, I think it's great...the controls are easy, it's ridiculously violent, the environment is cool/stunning, the story is reasonably compelling, etc. But it's also an enjoyable way to take my mind off other things because you gotta be pretty focused on the combat or you're toast. Movement is the key to staying alive. I hardly ever worry about ammo because you have so many awesome weapons that you can turn to and as you get glory kills you can collect ammo you might have been low on for your favorites a couple things I really love about this game: 1) it rewards exploring with all the collectibles/secrets/logs/runes/etc and 2) the battle arenas are designed in a way that you can try out different movement patterns with different enemies. I'll often find myself dying several times in a row once you meet a big bad new demon but the maps lend themselves to some experimentation which makes me want to keep playing instead of just bailing in frustration. There's always an out, just gotta figure it out this game and the Wolfenstein games go hand in hand. Linear storyline rooted in endless violence with a huge array of cool weapons at your disposal
I’m actually playing Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus right now. It’s fun enough. Linear, violent, etc. Doesn’t have the great music to add to the feel of Doom. That said, they did a great job of making Frau Engel actually seem intimidating/terrifying and making things seems hopeless at points. It’s well done.
took me like 20 tries to beat the Hell Guards at the end of The Necropolis level. Had no trouble with the pair you deal with to close it out but damn that first dude kept wrecking me mini missiles on the heavy assault rifle to the rescue though. That mod and the explosive shotgun mod are so money
Just finished Doom (2016). So fun, glad I prefer games like this and not sports games. Tried to beat the final boss last night but died like 15 times so decided to try it fresh today. Just had to do a better job moving away from attacks Some of the battles over the last two levels were absurdly hard. I played on Hurt Me Plenty. There's no way I could beat this game on Nightmare or even Ultra Violence for that matter. Thank god for the chainsaw and BFG Looking forward to trying Doom Eternal after making my way through some other stuff
It’s so much fun. I actually listened to this soundtrack while lifting this morning on a whim, and it really helped me get going when I really didn’t feel like it. Gonna do that more often.
I think these Bethesda Doom games might be the most fun I've had playing video games Doom Slayer dude is the biggest bad ass in history
one complaint I have about Eternal, I don't like these jump puzzles you seemingly have to solve to progress to new parts of the map. Having to jump and perform these mid-air dashes and swing off the little yellow bars is lame. This wasn't in the last game and I don't like it. I have died more from falling into lava over and over than I have from the bad ass demons I face in combat
This is a badass game. I loved GoW and HZD but this game is just really great. It’s nice to not have to go around hunting for stuff and scavenger shit. It’s a straight up arcade style shooter. Love how you just have to move. You can’t overpower your slayer to the point you can go toe to toe with any demons. You gotta move.
Have they fixed the not being able to save until the end of the fucking level or whatever? Drove me nuts having to leave my PS4 running for days since I don’t often get a chance to play for more than 30 minutes at a time.
Am I missing it or do we not have a Doom Eternal thread? Started this one Sunday and it’s hard af but a lot of fun. It’s kind of my 2020 energy right now so I’ll take it.
Where does this game get off? It has no business being this god damn fun. It’s 2020, and things are supposed to suck.
I just finished the final boss battle on Eternal. That was fucking intense. Needless to say, I’ve got a bit of adrenaline going right now...
Trying to get the plat on eternal but I have to do this fucking battle mode and finding matches is slow and arduous.
Having to play multiplayer to get platinum on this makes me honestly like the game less. I was in love until they did this shit.
Finally got the platinum trophy after getting 200 multiplayer kills. Yea, done playing Battlemode ever again. It’s shit.
