So thinking about what were the top WWE moments of the 2010s, here’s what I came up with. No particular order - CM Punk’s Pipe Bomb - The Yes Movement - Brock Lesnar ends The Streak - The Woman’s Revolution - The Rise of The Man Becky Lynch - Kofimania - Women main event WrestleMania
Watched it. Very dark and I knew Benoit/Eddie were close, but not to that level. It was kinda unsettling.
These companies world wide need to just shut it down. To many people in one area, the body to body contact with bodily liquids being passed to each other. The product generally is sub par without a crowd. Just run reruns for a few weeks. This goes for AEW and WWE. Giving us a half assed Mania isn’t cool. Airing these huge super shows in ESPN and you will lead into Mania with a replay of last years show and hey look at this fucking warehouse Mania that’s empty! Fuck that.
surprised no one posted this yet Free tier includes stuff like every WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series event, NXT TakeOver and NXT UK TakeOver, the “WWE 24” docuseries, “WWE Ruthless Aggression” and the “Monday Night War” series, as well as recent episodes of “Monday Night Raw” and “Friday Night SmackDown” and more. It does not include WrestleMania for free next weekend
So many hot garbage matches being added to Mania. Sigh. I guess the good news is they are getting Taker out the ring in some cemetery type match so that’s creative out the box
At this point I’m just going to pretend this Mania never happened. Zero interest in 12 hours of WWE warehouse wrestling.
Speaking of mania, in the spirit of social distancing, are we doing an official TMB virtual watch party or something?
That’s what I’m saying. Everyone is quarantined and my wife isn’t going to want to listen to me say “what the fuck is this shit” for 8 hours straight
Randy and Edge better close out one of the two nights. I give no fucks what night it is. It’s the best thing going in all of wrestling.
Shit if it closes the show Saturday I may not have a reason to tune in Sunday. Outside of maybe Cena/Fiend
I don’t blame him. I mean he can’t reschedule it right now anyway. Hell, at this point SummerSlam is in jeopardy. So do you push it back to September or October and try to compete with the NFL? I think you just have to bite the bullet.
The other issue is even if Vince books a new stadium for Mania this Summer, is he going to be able to fill it? You can’t count on fans outside the USA even be allowed to attend, and then domestically, how many people can afford to go as they dig out of potential financial ruin? I think the risk far outweighs the reward. And if nothing else, people are going to watch in two weeks because there is nothing else on.
They should do the ESPN Megacast concept where the "commentators" are just a room of people as fans. At least you'd get some of the pop and reactions to near falls. Now putting a bunch of people in a room together is an issue but something like that...
John Cena vs. The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 “will get a full blown movie treatment with a unique look & feel”, according to Gorilla Position. It’ll be shot in a warehouse, like the Randy Orton/Bray Wyatt House of Horrors match at Payback in 2017.
Its so weird, there's nothing going on and I don't even have the slightest desire to watch wrestlermania
It’s not apples to apples. WWE can film stuff in small groups and edit together a show. It won’t be good but it’s doable. You can’t do that with the Olympics. Plus once you go too far down the road, you’re now cannibalizing your Mania 37 payday. Most people aren’t going to be able to hit one Mania, let alone two in like six months.
This is a weird take. Are the Olympics scripted? What is WWE supposed to do, just stall stories for 6 months?
It's the fact that the Olympics, the largest sporting event on the planet, was willing to bite the bullet and protect themselves financially for the long run by postponing. Vince is throwing away his biggest show of the year....for what reason? Should plan a large stadium show in October or so, call it Wrestlemania, and still make money. Instead, we get whatever this is. Nobody cares and I'm not sure this won't do more harm than good. Don't have a problem running empty arena shows and making the best of a shit situation. Hell, do a "ppv" that first Sunday in April, call it NotMania and give people hope that they'll get the proper show they want, eventually.
They don't need Mania to make money, Saudi has been throwing them more than they make at WM twice a year.
I mean at least they’re doing something. They don’t have to. Sure it’s not the mania we are used to but it’s something. These guys bust their ass for a wrestle mania moment and granted it won’t be the usual one this year they’re not going to take that away either. WWE can film in small groups and keep the talent mostly spread out. The olympics you’re talking about hundreds and hundreds of athletes together for multiple events every day. Completely different circumstances.
If I was an Olympian and I couldn’t slay in the Olympic Village, I would wonder what the point even is
