Depressions have historically forced our economy to adapt, resulting in huge technological advances and investments in our infrastructure that are neglected while things are going well. Most of those advances you mention do not happen without the new deal.

Nope. Urban. But our system is huge, so we have to make decisions for a big system. We know healthcare spread is a big deal, and was a huge contributor in lots of other areas and countries. We have seen in the last week about 60% of our normal volume since patient's are too scared to come to the clinic for well physicals and med rechecks. Our urgent cares are half volume because suddenly people with a cold or sinus infection will tough it out instead of requesting an antibiotic at urgent care. Our system made the decision to move away from well visits and healthy non-urgent checks to limit spread and exposure to patients and staff. Also, since volumes are low, it saves the ssystem money. If there's no hospital bailout, hospitals will go bankrupt by the hundreds. If there was ever a time to socialize our healthcare system, it would be after this is over.
I was wrong regarding your situation. But I still hope you are able to grasp what the point of yesterday and today’s post are. And it’s not to label you as a trumper. It’s so that when folks like you who don’t claim a side come in piping one sides talking points to bash the other, but then don’t share the sentiment when the shoes on the other foot.
