It’s an ‘18 I believe. Trades? Interested in lot b, Weller full proof store picks, CYPB. Cash not a big motivator. And I’m not really motivated to be in contact with people / ship right now either... idk if this’ll work.
Wild Turkey 101: the official bourbon for temporarily closing your business, apparently. At least once I finish this bottle I'll have a reason to crack something new. Peace boys, here's to better days.
That sucks and condolences. Unemployment is staring me right in the face. I'm getting red wine drunk tonight. Cheers
This is an unprecedented time that hopefully brings us to a better outcome one way or another on the other side. Hang in there bourbon bros
Hang in there bud. Hope the best for you on the backside of all of this. In the meantime, that’s a damn solid $23 bottle.
I paid $200 on secondary, sadly. They pop up pretty rarely, so you have to move quick. I don't know if they make them anymore. I'm pretty sure they are distillery only or TN only if they do.
Ended up cracking open my Stagg Jr bottle after holding off for a while. Man talk about a flavor burst compared to sipping on Buffalo Trace. I love this stuff!
For me it was a lot like the Barrel Dovetail. High ABV so lots of fire but when I chilled it down a little bit with a small ice cube or two the flavors really came through. Was a big fan. *Also, was a bit heavy handed on the pour. Then, when I stood up at the end of the glass I was feeling right as rain. Added bonus.
my local store has a bottle of George T Stagg Antique for $450. Thought about it, then just bought some 4 Roses Small Batch for $36
I'm not plugged in enough to know the differences in batches. It was good and it has me where I need to be
How big of a degenerate am I when the first thing I did when hearing about the stimulus checks is think about which bottles I want to add to my collection?
I wouldn’t say you’re a degenerate. I would suggest if you’re at an income level that would afford you a government check, there may be other uses of that money to consider
Not getting close to the full amount and only reason I’m getting a little bit at all is because my wife doesn’t work. We are just going to spend what we get at local restaurants/stores.
Glad to hear that you like it. I’ve heard good things about it, always in the discussion for good inexpensive bottles.
I don't think so (at least it doesn't say so on the bottle). My guy just told me it was an allocated bottle and he'd sell it to me at retail so I grabbed it. I spend a fair amount of money at his store so maybe he was just doing me a favor by mentioning it.
I know there’s a bunch of different Very Old Barton bottles. I only ever see the 80 proof sitting on the bottom shelf. I know there’s a BiB offering as well as an 86 proof (green stripe.) More just a curiosity.
The 90 proof is black, gold, and red .... also tucked away on the bottom shelf. I forgot how much i paid for it but it was about the same as benchmark and Evan Williams BiB.
Went on about a 3 hour hunt across metro Atlanta today with nothing else to do. Ended up with a nice haul and all at refreshingly reasonable prices Weller: $26 EC Rye: $29 Blantons: $80 (reasonable these days) ER: $32
