Imagine having an elite prospects page at 14. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/535584/connor-bedard Imagine leading your elite prep league in points at 14 against 15, 16, 17, and 18 year olds.
I clicked on the 2023 draft and this Russian kid listed as a top prospect has unreal stats too. 70 goals in 26 games. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/699375/matvei-michkov I then clicked on his league’s points leaders and the second place guy is an absolute unit. 6ft7 234lbs as a 15 yr old. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/620329/kirill-dolzhenkov
https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog...e-the-greatest-us-hockey-team-ever-who-ya-got 18 dollars total Using the following price list, draft the best starting lineup (3F, 2D, 1G) you can out of the following American players! (Each price tier has 3F, 2D, 1G) $5: Modano, Kane, Hull, Chelios, Leetch, Quick $4: LaFontaine, Matthews, K. Tkachuk, Housley, Carlson, Richter $3: Mullen, Roenick, Eichel, R. Suter, S. Jones, Bishop $2: Amonte, Oshie, Gaudreau, M. Howe, G. Suter, Miller $1: Guerin, Kessel, Broten, Yandle, K. Hatcher, Vanbiesbrouck For the sake of the game, let’s say you get each player at their prime. Also, a few notes: This isn’t supposed to be a “best players” list. It’s obviously not all-inclusive. Counting Brett Hull. Don’t like it, don’t play.
Leetch Matthews Gaudreau Gary Suter Eichel? (2 C’s and 3 lefties but I think he’s just better than any of the other options with the money left) Miller
I will explain my choices. Modano, kane and leetch are easily the best players on this list. I get why a lot of you guys chose Roenick over modano for less money but I believe modano was easily better than Roenick. Stats don’t back that up though. Best deals for the goalie position were clearly beezer and bishop. I would’ve went bishop but I ran out of money. guerin and Hatcher would absolutely strive surrounded by my other players. My team would beat yours.
Going to say Leetch isn't easily better than Chelios who has more Norris trophies and all star games. \
yeah, but chelios was not as dynamic as leetch. just my opinion and I love chelios. Depends who you paired him with on your team.
Chelios was really good for an absurd amount of time but I think Leetch was better at his apex, so that’s why I went with him.
I also think Modano and Matthews are so close right now I take Matthews and save the extra buck at C.
Keith Tkachuk was on a blues pod and said Brady and Matthew are driving him and his wife crazy being stuck at home. They got into a wrestling match and broke a side table Robert Thomas lives w them too. Would be a great reality show.
I still love the story he told about them breaking so many windows in their house as kids he had the blues rink technician come to his house and install plexiglass in all the rooms
3 centers, two offensive minded defensemen and both left shots you are definitely building a team like a rangers gm would.
I took the best defensemen (Leetch) and the best overall player (LaFontaine). Centers can play any forward position that’s why I took 3. I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention, but offensive dmen are the what wins now
but I was half kidding, some centers can play wing. lafontaine is underrated to this day. Yandle has production but he isn’t that great imo.
My team rips. Kane, LaFontaine and Yandle just serving up Hull from his office. Hatcher playing a shutdown role. Miller being very good. You’re fucked.
It’s alright but modano plays all over the ice, leetch too. Guerin can play the front of the net. Hatcher stays home. No way any team beats mine and Kane does whatever he wants offensively
Vanbiesbrouck at a $1 is a steal considering in his prime he was just as good as anyone else on the list in goal. yes homer.
