Was planning to wait until we got into the new house but whatever. Original KJ that will eventually go into an outdoor kitchen in the new house. We close on the new house in the lawyers parking lot on Friday. Then 6-8 weeks of renovations.

I’ve been underwhelmed by mine. I think it would be much better on hardwood surfaces compared to my carpet. Doesn’t prevent the need to vacuum/sweep but will extend the time between full cleans.

I will also add that I enjoy vacuuming and buying a Dyson Ball (or any similar high performance vacuum) was a great choice over using the $100 Hoover from Target.

My wife would leave me for the Roomba if it were a person. Runs it every other day to keep up with regular cleaning, although yeah you still need to sweep/vacuum/steam clean occasionally.

Not a roomba but I have two eufy's (made by anker) and they are great. Run everyday on each side of the house and are a lifesaver with general floor dirt and dust as well as my golden retriever who sheds like a mother fucker.

I have mine run MWF and it’s amazing how much dust it gets. I just have it for main level that’s all hardwood. Totally worth it for keeping things a little cleaner without effort. Don’t know if roomba brand is necessary but any of the robot vacuums would be great for hardwood area daily upkeep.

We have an off-brand one at my hunting camp. It's pretty ideal for that because no one is going to vacuum, but it's not like we're there all the time.

we tried a roomba with kids. major fail, trying to constantly pick up a room to run it, or find times to run it outside of nap times AND you're not in the house...

if you have no kids, and run it while you're at work, would make more sense.

    1. first just restricted to LED bulbs cause we likely will use these for common lighting in the back, so want them to be on a lot without huge energy bills
    2. Wanted long strands to figure out optimal layout, so this had 96' when ordered for a good price, many other come in 24' increments or 48' increments. Might scope out your space
    3. Reviews were comparable to others but those were my two filtering methods to limit it down to 3-4 options, then looked at price and shipping options
Haven't hung them yet, plan to do so this week and will let you know if I notice any problems. They showed up about 3 weeks ahead of Amazon's conservative timeline, so just getting around to it

Same boat. Have been in the new house about a month and 95% of the main floor is hardwood. An 11 month old crawling everywhere getting covered in Golden Retriever hair is annoying, especially when I just vacuumed it. We have a large area rug in the living room and that’s easy to vacuum, but for the rest of it, looking to get one. Mind linking the Eufy you got?

I'm looking to get a smart TV for my parents because 1.) they are essentially out of work while this is happening and 2.) they still have a TV from 2009.

Obviously want to get them a nice 55-65in. smart TV that is easy for them to use and get them an amazon Firestick with it - if needed.

Who can tell me the best deal around because I am clueless about this stuff...

TCL. Has built in Roku, good picture and affordable. Check Walmart, Target and Amazon. Usually one of them is running a deal. Best bet if you need it quickly, Target pick up.

Bondi 6. The amount of cushioning is absurd, to the point that it was hard to stand/walk in them at first. Really tough on my calves at first but after hauling my 250lb ass around for 20 miles so far I'm used to them and quite like them.

Honestly, it feels like any big box store has what you are looking for. I did a moderate amount of research and got a Samsung 7 series 65 inch from Best Buy a few years ago for 1100. (Goal was to find the best one for 1k-ish, which I know isn’t much). Same TV was at Walmart this weekend for 599. I don’t think your parents will notice much difference between the 5-700 dollar ones and the 1500+. As long as they have WiFi, the in-TV apps are really easy to use and I haven’t had a need for Roku, Apple TV, etc.

Go with a 55 inch tcl. Can probably grab one for around 300.

If it were me I would grab the TCl 5 series, minimum. 4 series is fine but the 5 has a noticeably better picture to me.

I'd say go 65 inch if there's enough room. Much better experience and easier to watch.

Of course. If he feels like spending the money I'd always go bigger.

Also, I'm a fan of vizio as well. Have a couple and have had zero trouble. The roku interface on the tcl is easier to use though.

    Thank you guys.

I really splurged because I feel like they should be getting something upgraded from a bargain (after all they have been pretty good to me and I havent always been the greatest son) so I went with the Samsung Q80 65" from Costco. I'm usually super frugal, but couldnt cut the cost this time.

I dont know if they will know the difference in picture at all, I have the TCL w Roku and I am sure they'd love it and it is user friendly - but I got the itch get them the Samsung (plus the 10+ yr old set they have is a Samsung).

Hope they like it. Their mind is going to be blown when they realize what a smart TV can do.

They had been watching Game of Thrones on a tablet these last few years w my account.

following up, these worked great! Happy I got the extra length, it's hard to pull them super tight unless you put a guide wire, but the loop holes on the top are CLUTCH.

Was able to secure them to the house and directly to the trees with a screw through the mounting hole and they are pretty secure. Hardest thing was keeping the connection together since the cable is held in tension. I plugged them together and used some small wire and wrapped it tightly around both sides so it holds them together. Tape certainly wouldn't work.

Did a big triangle from one corner of the back, out to a tree, across to another, and back to the same point, and it's plugged into an outlet that has a switch inside.

Wife and are very happy with them

    Re: Roomba/auto vac

LadyRes bought one a month or two ago, maybe a Shark? It runs daily, and always picks up crud (We have a Chesapeake and 2 cats, so fur obviously). Gripes: the bastard has unhooked a power cord, turned off a power strip, and today got high centered on a floor transition. Funny til it burns the house down I guess. Seems to make wife happy, so it'll stay. The app with mapping function is impossible to decipher btw.

I have a pair of the Clifton 6s but returned them because I just couldnt run in them. Theyre so damn clunky and the rocker was throwing my pace off. I was looking at them as a recovery shoe for longer runs.

But if I were to go to Disney or something where I'd be walking all day, they would be splendid.

How are you liking the Bondi?

definitely take some getting used to, but I'm running great in them now. Even walking takes some adjustment because the rocker will definitely throw you off

I did a similar arrangement last fall but using wires. It was glorious and I was so fucking proud of myself. A tree promptly fell across the strings about a week later. :tebow:
