Fuckin Birx still talking about fast throughput machines and private industry entrepeneurship saving the day b/c the federal govt is not doing a damn thing.
yeah, came to post this. Scariest thing I've read today (besides all the dead people). What's the chance there's even an election in November? It has to be around 50/50 at this point.
There will be an election. We should hope there isn’t because as has been posted before but no election means trump is kicked out of office and Pelosi becomes potus.
"I'm not leaving. Make me." Not trying to play the 'what if' game here, but what if he just says "I'm not leaving" --because I think it's plausible.
Massie's forcing all of the house members to fly back to Washington to vote instead of having a voice vote. Republican selfishness and idiocy aside, maybe they should all just fucking stay there until this gets under control?

He's 100% correct and you know it. Over-spending accompanied with under-taxing form the Republicans' long-time plan to starve the beast. They claim that they're fiscally conservative, but they've never been -- certainly not since 1980 when the national debt really started to take off. Democrats tax and spend. Republicans borrow and spend. Only one of the two can actually be trusted to pay their bills. The other? Like someone currently in office, they're more than happy to spend profligately, claim bankruptcy, stick it to labor, and divvy up the assets between the bondholders and preferred shareholders. As famous Republican tax lobbyist Grover Norquist said, "My goal is to cut government in half in 25 years to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub." He made that comment in 2001.
As already discussed... he doesn't have line item veto and that isn't binding. It doesn't change the law at all.
How can he do that? Yes yes I know rs control senate and courts but is there any rational legal justification?
It doesn't matter... he doesn't get to alter the law, that isn't the role of the Executive. He can't (legally) do what the signing statement indicates. It doesn't mean that they won't try to do it (and probably will!)... but it's illegal to do so.
That’s not accurate. As President, he is obligated to interpret laws as to make their execution consistent with the Constitution, and to not carry out any provision of a bill that is unconstitutional. It’s absolutely not illegal to not carry out an unconstitutional law, the only question is whether these two provisions are.
It doesn’t matter in that his statement isn’t law. He didn’t amend the law in any way. The law still stands as written and passed by Congress. It does matter in that it clearly signals he does not intend to comply with the law as written and plans to delay any attempted oversight by congress by forcing them to go through the courts. And of course that won’t be resolved before the election if at all.
Trump pushing hard for Easter services so his church grifters can get their big annual payday is fucking sickening.
So it is literally based on nothing other than asshole holds up Congress and democrats suck...wait my base loves the second amendment.
