In the current climate: yes Originally: accommodating resistance. Deals with the strength curve and applying force to the lift through lockout
If I go this route I’ll probably run some kind of eyelet through the platform. I have nightmares of bands snapping me in the dick or face or both.
Adds progressively more resistance throughout the movement to where it's providing the most resistance at top of the lift/full muscle contraction
I’ve used bands a few times and was definitely cautious about getting popped, but the visual of seeing it happen to someone else sounds hilarious. Like an unsuspecting person getting hit in the head with a basketball or something.
Not going to lie. I'd prob invest another grand over night if I won that set. I'd completely rejoin the Home Gym Master Race. First thing I'd do (if I don't drown in the future economy) is buy a house and build a sauna next to my gym set up.
That guy’s whole garage is Rep Fitness. They did a whole build for him. He’s posted of GoT in the past, but I wouldn’t put it past him.
as someone who knows nothing about the garage gym game, are rep fitness’ weights any good? Looking at the rubber coated olympic plates to pair with titan dumbbells and bar.
I haven’t used those specific plates, but they make really good stuff. Which bar are you going with from Titan?
I don't have the plates but I have their adjustable bench, kettlebells and weight storage and all of them have been really solid so far
ok cool, figured I might as well jump on it since they ship by mid month and everywhere else I have seen is sold out. I got the 86” Olympic bar second hand. Figured I can resell it down the line if I want something nice and start to build out the home stuff.
Woke up at 1am, legs all cramped from 1,000 reps of 45# 20” step ups. I need to lift something heavy, this has gotten old way faster than I’d thought. Spent two hours reading hensleya ’s backlog of bar and plate reviews. (Also mentally spent about $2,000.) new Sorinex Off Grid rack w/ plastic (free from the ‘gram) Rogue SS OPB Hi-Temp bumpers from somebody whenever they’re in stock time to build my platform
After a long journey, I should be able to survive come the end of April. - 450 lbs of rubber plates from Rep Fitness - Titan Adjustable FID Bench - Titan T3 Squat Stand - Titan Olympic Bar - Titan Olympic Dumbbells

Things are coming together in the garage gym. I picked a bad time to look for adjustable dumbbells though
I have no clue, but didn’t really have the option of being picky with everything sold out. Figured I could resell it when all this is over if I wanted to recoup some of the cost.
I’ve ordered some strongman stuff and a cambered bar from Titan that’s been pretty good. A friend of mine has a rack and a bench from Titan and it will definitely get the job done for a home gym.
Yea I went with dark red because it was sort of garnet. This thing will last forever, really impressed with the quality
Not pictured are the ones from the 1950s that I hauled off when making room in there My grandpa "didnt believe in throwing things away" and is still rolling in his grave
Rather than building a true platform, think I’m just going to grab two of these. Thoughts? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4-ft-x-6-ft-x-3-4-in-thick-rubber-stall-mat
