Beautiful evenings like this one make it that much more difficult to comprehend what's going on in the world and in our country, in particular. Stay safe, don't be scared to step outside, and enjoy some good beers, my friends.
Cracking open a Rogue “Hazelnut Brown Nectar”. Haven’t had a beer made by them in forever. Solid though.
Some of their beers are solid. I've always had a vendetta against them though because back in college they had a tap takeover event at the only place in State College at the time that had 50+ taps and rotated stuff pretty regularly. Went to the event and it was fun but afterwards a bunch of their stuff wasn't moving and clogged up the taps for months.
My wife is liking stouts more so I dug around in what’s left of my stash. Ten Fidy is from 2017 I believe and the Bomb i think was bought in 2014.
Bomb is definitely very old, they haven’t but that seal around the cap in a long time. How’d it hold up?
It was actually still pretty good. Had of course lost some of the chili and vanilla flavor but still enjoyed it. I have another one from the same time I need to pull out. Also still have a couple Coffee Vanilla Noir with the tan colored wax. I’m worried about those still being drinkable.
One of the better beers I ever had was nearabouts 2014 at OB's Longmont location. Rum barrel aged Ten Fidy.
Always loved that one. I haven't drank beer in awhile but I saw an ad for the 4/20 release of Enjoy By and thought "I bet that's still good as hell"
Casa is killer. Their hops are great, but their stouts are legitimately as good as any non-BA stouts I've had.
Don't think I sent you the Guava. That one released before I was a member. P sure the Stone Fruit was me though. It's all great though.
Here's a homebrewed pale ale with Citra and Mosaic. Anyone have access to fresh La Cumbre out of Albuquerque? Willing to trade. I'm in Houston.
Just had an Oude Kriek from Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. Wish I was smart enough to take a picture. Was a delicious lambic. I have another from them that I may dip into in the coming weeks.
Beer bar in Portland is currently selling bottles of Batches 5 and 6 of Zenne Y Frontera for takeout but it’s 125 a bottle
As much as I love beer I don’t think I could ever justify spending that much on any bottle. I have a hard time with anything over $25.
