Then this will probably look familiar, this was my only round there, hope to get back when things are normal again. Between Rustic, Moorpark CC and Tierra Rejada it's a really solid area for golf out here
Supposed to do Hawaii for our honeymoon in October. Planning to splurge on the Plantation course first then staying at the Grand Hyatt and play Poipu on Kauai
I don’t know about the world long drive but there was a bigger gal working in the pro shop. My wife actually chatted with her for a few minutes. Don’t recall her name though.
Haven’t kept up with the thread but is anyone still playing golf? Course right by my house is still open. 3 somes only with each person getting their own cart. Buddy of mine just asked me to play this afternoon. The weather is phenomenal. Except for a few trips to the grocery, I’m pretty stir crazy.
Walked nine this AM at my club. Essentially keeping course open but nothing inside. Pro shop, locker room, etc...all closed. No rakes, raised cups. They did set up a bar at the turn.
My course put pool noodles in the cups. They’re allowing carts but only one per cart unless you live together. I’ve gone a couple times and just carried my bag.
I've been walking 9 almost every day since mid March. Don't have to go into clubhouse anymore. Just call in and go play,
Very crowded in the mornings and afternoons. I've been trying to get the first tee time of the day a little before 8. Also have played a good bit around lunch time when it's a little less busy. Also, we have 4 courses so I choose the last crowded one.
Agree, he was great. That was the first time I had listened to him. I liked that he told his team that he’s no longer answering any what if questions. Also thought his comments on combining tourneys and working with various sponsors was pretty insightful. Seems like a pretty sharp and approachable guy.
As busy as it normally would be. The situation everyone is in hasn't really affected the number of tee times here as far as I can tell.
Hit a shot yesterday that I’m still filled with regret that I didn’t have my friend video. Par 3 over water, my tee shot lands on the bank and rolls slowly down, ends up just in the water but it’s halfway exposed because it’s sitting on some muck. It’s the 16th hole so I decided to play it since if I get drenched we’re almost done. Did not completely soak myself and got it on the green, has to be the best bogey I’ve ever made
Mike Whan was on the nlu pod a year or so ago and was very interesting. He had no golfing background at his previous gig, so it seems like he was a good outside of the box hire who wasn’t entrenched in doing things the way they had all been done. LPGA has really expanded and has had a lot of new sponsors of late.
Open Championship canceled. Stays at Royal St George next year so St Andrews can still host the 150th in two years.
Makes sense for them to just push everything a year. Also makes sense it has to just be canceled, not like you really want to/can host a major in England late fall
So Augusta is November 9-15 which means the winner can wear the Green Jacket for about 6 months. It also means we get 2 Masters in 6 months.
