My buddy just retired Army Rangers. Can't find anything. Got a bar off LetGo. What rack should he get hensleya
I’m generally recommending rep Fitness pre-order right now depending on his budget. People are gouging on the used market right now.
I’ve always liked their flat bench that you did the review video on, but I’m not clear on their racks. What’s the difference between the 1000 and 1100? I think we’d lean towards the 1000 so my wife can do her gymnastics movements, but I don’t get why the 1000 is actually more expensive than the 1100. They seem like the same rack, just different pull-up configurations with the fancier shit being less expensive. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m salty about $150 to ship $400 of rack and bench to Georgia
the biggest differences are that the 1000 has holes every 2” vs 3” on the 1100. It also includes lasered numbers every 5th hole and plate storage on the back for better stability. It’s also heavier. Rep’s shipping can be bad in some cases. Helps if you buy more stuff from them at the same time.
Im trying to push him to get the Sorinex. But he wants a rogue set. I'm like why. It's 3/8 steel it's more than you'll ever need. I'm looking at it thinking if you add spud Inc safety straps you'll be fine. Also offered to loan my yoke but again stubborn.
If you have an oil filled heater I'd think that's what you would rather want. Think radiates heat vs blows it. I'm in an uninsulated and unheated shop in ND..layers and gloves and snow gloves between sets when it's fuck you cold got me through this winter. I enjoy it at this point, but also looking forward to sweating in shorts instead of freezing in double digit articles of clothing
Talked to my wife today and she’s on board with me opening a gym... so yeah, I’m probably gonna do that in the next year or so... let me know when y’all want to move to Charlotte.
I’ve been running the personal training department at multiple (big box) clubs in Virginia until 2 weeks ago. I’ve had a hand in renovations, equipment orders, layouts, personnel, training revenue, etc. be happy to talk shop if at some point you’d like to. I have a lot of free time on my hands at present.
question for anyone with knowledge, when rehabbing a nagging issue; do you think you should just take a complete break from the activity causing the pain(heavy deadlifts on my shoulders) or just go light. Really hate not deadlifting, was thinking about just doing 3 plates with bands and taking the whole month as a deload.
He's wanted something simple. He likes my yoke and the versatility but a regular S1? Or whatever it is would be perfect.
If it’s a nagging injury, you need to most likely be intentional about getting it better. Things like that typically don’t “just get better on their own” when they’ve been bothersome for month(s). I suggest corrective exercise (assuming you know the cause) for actual tissue adaptation and change.
440x3 is nothing to scoff at, the pressing numbers of the best depress me way more than deadlifts/squats. watched the Eddie Hall Q&A today and he said he doesn't trust the Icelandics and a bunch of other shit, so this whole 501 saga is gonna heat up even more. Greatly entertains me that maybe the 2 strongest people in history(with big Z) are such fucking children.
eddie will definitely compare bars, and find some way to diminish the record breaking. my weights are fine, well not pressing really, but its nbd.
Literally everything is the same, pretty much accusing him of fake weights now. It's so childish but can't not watch, lifting version of shitty reality TV
To add on to what petere1588 said I think a general rule of thumb is to find a way to work around it. It seems like complete inaction doesn’t help as much. Throw in a lot of tempo work, different variations, etc. whatever you can do pain free will help
Instagram is full of scammers selling silly fitness equipment. Absolutely ridiculous trying to take advantage of people in these times. Anyways. I'm going to be selling my used Rogue Y1 Yoke $5,000. With spotter arms and dip bar I'll throw them in for $6000 all together. My bare steel Rippetoe bar $1750. Bumper plates and irons $2250.
Not sure why you wouldn't want my used equipment. The blood sweat and tears corroding the powder coating is invaluable.
Speaking of bullshit. Who's winning all these equipment giveaways. Why aren't they posting the winners. Or is no one winning and they're just doing it to promote their company. MEDIA INVESTIGATE
I do know that I’m going to build one hell of a home gym for Christmas when all these people that ran out and bought shit are trying to unload it all
Today I did zercher squats, deficit Romanians, good mornings, narrow landmine squats, and finished it with heavy medicine ball slams. Beginning to think I may be a masochist. Really wasn't that bad but fucking hate good mornings.
My shoulder is acting up and my right elbow is still annoying me. Need to do some work on those. Today i tried working in those chains. I think itll be only a matter of time til the neighbors call the cops on me. Might just not use them over there anymore. Anyways i need another set to do flys with them. 30# isnt getting the effect i had hoped for.
Holy shit I'm so sick of doing push ups and pull ups. For the love of God please open the gym back up.
With a week gone, probably not. I should have kept track though. Usually I try to do 200 push ups and 100 pull ups and then the rest of the workout.
Take a guess for the past six days and start from there. I’m doing anything I can to stay motivated with my limited setup.
