For some reason I find this kind of humorous They just seem like they exact type of dudes this would happen to idk
I was thinking how do you rob a guy with a voice like that? But doubt the suspects have their discography.
theres been a couple of albums like this that I didnt expect to get anything out of that I ended up enjoying (grimes, purity ring, phantogram kind of fall into this category as well from this year)
finally got around to the new Guru Guru album, dig it all caught up for now on the '20 backlog I think
That's very early Incubus sounding, little lacking on the bass though. Also is that a 12 year old playing to the left of the lead singer?
so I fucking LOVE The Courtneys Courtney Garvin has announced a new band called Gum Country. Debut album out June 19th first single is called Somewhere Spoiler
This Strfkr album is literally like falling into a serial book and you are just starting the next one and it feels like it just fits with everything to date. It's so chill.
If you like Strfkr, you may not even realize these are new songs. I was supposed to see them this month. Postponed for now, and not sure if I would go now even if they delay it to June/July.
Tried giving Strfkr a go with Reptilians a while back and it just never resonated with me, but I'm really enjoying this album so far, should give them another shot I guess
https://www.al.com/life/2020/04/this-alabama-band-will-record-a-vinyl-single-just-for-you.html Spoiler This Alabama band will record a vinyl single just for you Updated 10:21 AM; Today 9:06 AM By Matt Wake | [email protected] It’s the technological opposite of the streamed Facebook Live home performances keeping local music alive during the pandemic. Florence rock band The Pollies is teaming with Leesta Vall Sound Recordings of Brooklyn, N.Y. to record a vinyl single of any Pollies song fans want. Pollies singer/guitarist Jay Burgess will cut each single in one live take, from his living room. Each vinyl single will be a one of a kind record. The Pollies records are part of Leesta Vall Sound Recordings' Shut-In Sessions, a project developed in the wake of coronavirus. A statement on LVSR's website explains: "With live show and touring revenue streams absolutely devastated, now more than ever, artists need sustainable ways to connect with their audience and create art. Shut-In Sessions create an exceedingly unique product for their fans while adding a revenue stream artists can safely execute from their homes." Here’s how it works: Fans go to Leesta Vall’s website, click the Shut-In Sessions tab and select The Pollies. Enter your favorite Pollies song in the field provided. Then, Burgess will record the song of your choosing. He’ll also include a personal message to you in the recording. The Pollies have released two critically acclaimed albums of psych-tinged power-pop. If you’re not familiar with their material or just want to figure out which song you want, stream the music on Spotify. The group has also made a name for themselves as sort of the indie-rock Swampers, backing touring singer/songwriters like Dylan LeBlanc, Nicole Atkins and Rob Aldridge. “Renegade,” the album The Pollies made with LeBlanc helmed by star producer Dave Cobb, was a standout 2019 release. Some of the band’s most streamed song include 2015 bliss-outs “Jackson” and “Lost.” Other notable tracks include the rollicking “You Want It” and jangly “Summertime Suicide” from 2018. After pre-orders close April 16, Leesta Vall will make seven-inch, lathe-cut vinyl records of Burgess’ performances. The singles are made on a modified 1950s lathe. No two records will be the same, even if you pick the same Pollies song as someone else. The records cost $25 each (not bad for a unique vinyl record) plus shipping. Estimated ship date is April 30. Thus far other artists participating in Shut-In Sessions include North Carolina rock band Hollow Intent, Baltimore guitarist Nick Saia and Kansas City R&B singer Ivy Roots. Leesta Vall splits profits on Shut-In Sessions sales 50/50 with artists. Artists interested in being considered for Shut-In Sessions recordings can learn more at eestavall.com/pages/shutinsessions. Like those Facebook Live streams keeping us connected to local performers, Shut-In Sessions is a clever way musicians are figuring out a perplexing time. As Leesta Vall’s website puts it, “They need you now more than ever.”

This was a lot of fun. really excited for her June release. I have really enjoyed Garden Song and Kyoto. Also her cover of Summer's End by John Prine was amazing.
