I'm caught up, I adore what this show is doing Side note, Patrick Fabian is a brilliant actor, and I don't know how to feel for Howard
Just watched S1E6 — the one about Mike’s backstory. What an amazing episode and I love all the Breaking Bad callbacks. When Mike killed the one cop on the ground the camera angle was just like when Walt killed Jack
It’s when the show really catches its stride. When people watch and say it wasn’t their thing I tell them to make it to ep 6 and then decide (not exactly a novel take; more like the SOP imo)
Jimmy's gotta tell her to bail. I've feared the worst for Kim a couple times on this show but I can't see her dying from something cartel-related and Saul keeps doing what he does in Breaking Bad. If she doesn't leave then, as Mike said, she's "in the game." She showed her face to Lalo, Mike knows she knows at least a little so that means Gus will know. She's an available piece on the board for both sides now and I can't see Jimmy allowing that to go on for very long. Also I think there might be something to Saul ending up in Nebraska as Gene and Kim being from Nebraska (her mom's car had Nebraska plates in her flashback). Not really gonna think about it too much but just don't think it's a red herring that Jimmy ended up in her home state.
I'm holding out hope that they get together again to finish the series. That she's somehow back in Nebraska and their relationship rekindles. I'm a dummy for holding out hope. Last night was awesome. This season has been so good.
Do we know for sure that Nebraska Jimmy doesn’t have a wife at home? I can’t remember if that’s been made clear. I’d hope that she went there and then he caught up.
Man what a good season so far. Sign me up right now for a spin-off with Lalo. Or literally anything Vince and team want to do.
God I love this show I know that Mike and Saul survive, but the damn show still makes me nervous for their survival Saul denying the space blanket because Chuck, Mike using the space blanket because he can't make a fire, Chuck making a fire because the space blanket doesn't work for him This episode being Better Call Saul's version of Breaking Bad's Four Days Out Mike taking the tracker out of Jimmy's car with the gas cap Bob's fantastic acting in this episode and him bearing his ass
And evidently, 7 million in 100 dollar bills would weigh 154 pounds https://goodcalculators.com/money-weight-calculator/
One of my favorite little details...the lettering on the school said Red Cloud Junior High School and the plate was 45-county (Webster County, Nebraska, of which Red Cloud is the county seat).
I'm dumb and can't figure out Mike/Fring's angle with getting Lalo arrested but then also making sure he gets out on bail.
Think their original plan was to get him arrested to try to get him out of the picture. Then when it became clear he could still pull the strings from prison, they wanted to get him bail so that he'd flee to Mexico
Underrated line from Mike when Saul asks if he knew the ambush was coming "If I knew I'd have brought more guys"
The whole thing with sending Saul, who Lalo barely knows, to get the money required a lot of suspension of disbelief. Not having people watch him after he picked it up required even more.
I'm guessing the logic is supposed to be 1) they have so much money $7M isn't really a big deal and/or 2) They deeply feel that nobody is ballsy enough to fuck with the Salamancas. I don't know how much I buy into all that. What I'm interested in is how the other cartel or whoever it was that hit them knew about the drop.
They knew because they were tipped off by someone working where all the cash was being counted. After the twins took the cash they showed him make a phone call and saying he had a job for them if they were interested.
Anyone notice what part of that guy’s vehicle Mike shot? Front tire? Didn’t seem like he hit the driver himself. Not a super important detail but was just curious
It sucked when that last truck got destroyed. I had my heart set on mike pegging the driver and the vehicle being their way out. I trust the writing completely, though.
”You’ll get the money from my cousins. Nice boys, you're gonna love them.” Lololol Lalo is one of the best villains between the two shows
So I missed episode 7, should I just go from 6 to 8 (I wish) and skip 7 or just wait for it to be on Netflix? My tv provider kept used to put out the episodes on demand a day later and flush it a few weeks later but episode 7 never came through. And it looks like they are not going to keep the next few ones either. It’s not a problem, I can record them but episode 7 is gone and I can’t find it anywhere
