I like Pierce, but not above Craig Craig is number 1-2 for me Sean/Craig Craig/Sean Dalton Brosnan Moore Lazenby
Brosnan was just a poor man’s Moore. And he starred in the worst Bond film ever. Which is saying something
Connery/Craig Lazenby Moore Brosnan Dalton Dalton may have been better had he been given better scripts but License to Kill is pretty bad. The Living Daylights is a middle to lower tier.
Dalton brought nothing to the Bond character. edit: in fact, I would go on to say his brought too much rage/temper, which we know is anti-bond.
I don't want to rank Craig yet, they are still fuddling with his character. Connery Moore Brosnan Dalton Craig/Lazenby Incomplete. Though despite Bond marrying in OHMSS, Lazenby's Bond had real legs IMO. I would say I absolutely preferred him to Brosnan, though his sample size was tiny, and the script for OHMSS was fantastic.
It's a shame that Brosnan wasnt able to play Bond when they first wanted him. He was contractually obligated for the TV show Remington Steele and couldnt do it so they went with Dalton. I think a younger Brosnan could have maybe made those Dalton movies better by playing it a little different.
License to Kill was still a pretty bad script. I don’t hate Dalton, I think he got the raw end on movies. He did have a fundamental lack of suave.
Since this thread is pretty active, what is everyone's: 1. Favorite Bond Movie 2. Best Bond Movie iyo 3. Guilty pleasure bond movie Mine: 1. GoldenEye 2. From Russia With Love 3. Diamonds are Forever
1. Casino Royale 2. Casino Royale barely edged out The Spy Who Loved Me 3. The Man With the Golden Gun
Top 5, in no order: Thunderball, Skyfall, Casino Royale, OHMSS, and another Connery film Guilty Pleasure: The Man with the Golden Gun, due to Maud Adams, and a host of other reasons.
If anyone gets epix channel they have been running a lot of Bond films. I’ve rewatched Casino Royale and Skyfall in the last week and recorded some others.
I honestly can’t choose among this cluster for my favorite/best: From Russia With Love Thunderball The Spy Who Loved Me Casino Royale Skyfall
I want to see it again. I only saw it once in the movie theater and was a little disappointed considering waltz was the villain. Wonder if I like it more on the re-watch.
Google is very smart nowadays. Just google "movie title + Streaming", and it will be 95% accurate, as long as it's not something really art house or international. The feature is pretty cool, it will show free streaming too an any platform (e.g. netflix) when in play. Spectre is not streaming, it seems, but it is on VOD platforms, here is a link to choose your favorite one, though it defaults to the 4k version, toggle to 1080 to see the full list. https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/spectre-2015
These days most Bonds are streaming on Pluto, Amazon Prime and some on Hulu. The original bonds are in 4k on Amazon.
FYI looks like Epix and BBC America are both doing Bond marathons today. BBC America is doing Moore's final film now and then looks to be cycling through Connery's films.
Might be the cabin fever talking, but my immediate family said Roger Moore wasn’t handsome tonight, and I want to kill them all. Justifiable homicide IYAM.
Five Best: Goldfinger Casino Royale The Spy Who Loved Me Thunderball SkyFall Five Worst: The World is Not Enough Moonraker Diamonds Are Forever A View To A Kill Die Another Day
showed wayy too much new footage imo, new action/conflict, scenes, set pieces, etc. For the spoiler-haters - don't watch.
The tagline "The mission that changes everything begins", does that imply the film is the first of another multi-film story arc? Probably had to take a different kind of strategy to psyche people up to get back to the theatres.
Trailers don't bother me, but yes sorry to those I didn't warn about the large amount of content shown
