The ‘official number’ of hospitalized patients is 26 but the actual hospitalized is 72. Wtf

 

What they’re saying is that 46 people are under investigation for the virus meaning they may have symptoms, but nothing is confirmed yet so you can’t exactly count that in total hospitalizations.

 

It makes my point better if I do though. NCH and the mayor of Naples wrote a letter to DeSantis asking for testing supplies today because they are lacking testing down here.

Haven’t slept all night. I don’t think I can go in. Harris county is about to become an epicenter. They’re converting NRG stadium into a hospital. Not sure if I can justify the risk vs reward.

I work in project controls as an estimator. I figure out how much it’s going to cost to repair rotors and turbines used in refineries. 90% of my job is estimating them and then they just go into storage for years because most places have spare ones available for the compressors.

 

But I’m deemed essential because I have to be there. I could perform 100% of my job from home but that got a big nope. It’s the mentality of “if you ain’t at work then you ain’t workin”. Like I can sit at my desk and just fuck off and that’s considered to be more “workin” than if I was actually out on the floor reviewing the work we were doing if that makes sense. It’s a “be seen” type of job.

she’s been a very good twitter follow throughout and I’d imagine felt comfortable enough with the source. That said it’s 10 patients so it’s about as complete as the 20 person study that trump floats. Most doctors though based on previously illnesses similar to covid 19 believe blood plasma will work. That’s why finding people with the antibodies will be crucial. Just another way our lack of testing hurts us.

 

so the cdc has now relaxed the guidelines to allow asymptotic, potential carriers back into businesses in the food and medical fields among other “essential” businesses? We aren’t getting out of quarantine until we have a new president, a cure or a vaccine.
