just went over 48 hours on my current charge and still have 16% left. Have been on my laptop a lot the past couple days but still comfortable with that kind of battery life and man the camera is a huge upgrade was having an issue with the tap to wake feature not always working. So I used the "send feedback about this device" feature to report and haven't had an issue since. Maybe just a coincidence but also neat that you can submit a report about an issue and potentially get it worked out
I finally ditched the android keyboard because I couldn't get over the random cursor movement on here. Went back to SwiftKey... They now have a permanent incognito switch so all of my depraved words aren't saved as predictive text.
My girlfriend told me last night that her pixel 3 is acting weird. Her auto rotate, screen brightness, and squeeze for Google Assistant aren't working. I looked into it and I guess a bunch of people are having this issue. The Android 10 update kills all sensors on the phone and there isn't a fix for it. Lovely.
I'm not sure which update did it specifically but I searched on r/googlepixel and there are a good bit of posts on it.
I would expect Pixel 4A stuff to drop in the next couple weeks. Can happen whenever, now that it's decouple from IO, which was cancelled altogether. Also upcoming is Fi's "birthday". I bought a 3XL last year via Fi's "Birthday sale" for something crazy like $450-600.
when using Spotify on the 4XL, it doesn't show up in the notifications/settings menu you can access by swiping down from the top of the screen. So I have to go to the recent tabs screen or the home screen to get into it. Anyone know how to make it so it just shows up in the swipe down menu while in use? That was how it always functioned on my last Android
Does anyone here have or have used a Pixel Slate? I'm looking to pick up a 2:1 or convertible laptop for general home use / entertainment. The Slate was intriguing as they're having a decent sale on it currently to clear inventory. I watched MKBHD's review and he just destroyed it due to laggy software. I'm curious if this was ever resolved.
I do not have the slate but I had an Asus Zenbook Flip and I loved it as you were asking about a convertible. It had a quad core and a dedicated gpu. Only problem is motherboard had a short after a year or so and became unreliable for work. I would definitely buy another one but make sure to get one of those no questions asked extended warranties. I ended up switching to an MSI gaming laptop that's still portable because I knew I wanted something that could run a beastly VR headset. Now playing Half Life Alyx and no regerts.
Good info, thank you. I had an Asus two laptops ago and thought it was great. I'll check it out. Also considering a Surface.
Random q: if someone has a car that only supports carplay, would there be a way to sideload that onto an android device? Or is there an app that makes the head unit think it's an apple?
What are some of the best options to send video files (besides email and FB) without them getting all compressed and blurry? Every time I text one it goes through blurry as hell. I've got a note 10 on AT&T if that matters.
Samsung has link sharing option. It uploads it tot their server and the person you text gets a link to download it. We use it for videos of our daughter.
You can share through Google Photos. Just hit the share button and select "Share in Google Photos" or create link and send it through text or your preferred app.
So I am in the market for a new phone. I am never one to have the latest and greatest or highest end, so I'm turned off by the $1000 stuff. I was hoping to get the Pixel 4a but it looks like that debut is still delayed a couple weeks. I see that the Pixel 4 and 4XL are on pretty good sale right now but I have read the battery leaves much to be desired. Any thoughts on if the 4a will fix this or if I should just pull the trigger on an 4/4XL now? Also should I even be considering the Galaxy A series? For reference I am coming from a Galaxy S7.
What size are you comfortable with? Pound for pound, the battery on the P4 is much worse than the P4XL
I had a Note II back when it was phablet sized compared to everything else and it never bothered me. Looks like the 4XL is still a little bigger than that was but it doesn't scare me. I saw his posts on the last page and this one and it made me feel better about the 4XL. I'm not streaming or taking a bunch if pictures all day or anything. Usually texting, random googling, and playing downloaded podcasts. Upon further review, the other mid tier phones (ie Galaxy A51 and S10 Lite, OnePlus 7 and 7T) dont have wireless charging. I'd rather deal with a less than optimal battery that I can wirelessly charge while I'm working. So the question is Pixel 4XL or wait on Pixel 4a.
I love my pixel 4XL. I've never had a problem with battery life I also bought the pixel buds 2 last night
Waiting for the Almost Black Pixel Buds 2. Excited tho because all the reviews are saying great things about them.
I'm consistently going nearly 48 hours without a charge on the 4 XL. I pretty much only use Spotify, Maps, Chrome and Twitter with some calls and texts and pictures mixed in. I have no complaints with the phone. Still haven't used my battery pack I got with it
White are available again so I took your advice and jumped on them. Google saying the other colors will be released in the coming months.
They're getting excellent reviews but who knows. I'm just pissed because I know when the Almost Black Buds drop I'm going to buy them as well. So fuck Google and me for being an idiot lol
I have a pair of the awesome sony xm3 noise cancelling headphones for flying and then a pair of the powerbeat pros for jogging. I just bought these for functionality and everyday use. The PBPs get kind of painful after a while and everyone kept talking about how comfy the google buds are. Also they let through a lot of sound so you can still hear normally around you.
These are pretty comfortable. Feel snug in the ear. The assistant baked in as nice, haven't had a chance to test out the translate feature yet though. I FEEL LIKE DOLORES IN SEASON 3
Google Pixel 4a Rumor Puts 128GB Model at $349 This would be a hell of a move by Google to take on the SE, IMO. https://www.droid-life.com/2020/05/14/google-pixel-4a-rumor-puts-128gb-model-at-349/ What would be a good way for Google to finally drop the Pixel 4a on us and steal back some of the spotlight from Apple’s new iPhone SE? Pricing below the SE and going nuts on the storage might help. According to a rumor from 9to5Google, Google may do both of those things by introducing the Pixel 4a with 128GB storage and a starting price of $349. That would be a significant move by Google, making its “a” line an even better value than it was with the 3a. Previous rumors suggested that the Pixel 4a would arrive at $399 and with 64GB storage to start. There was thought around the idea of a 128GB model as an upgrade that would raise the price. Should this be true, does that mean we are looking at a single Pixel 4a model (128GB for $349) with no options to upgrade in size or storage? Last year, with the Pixel 3a, we had regular and XL variants that only featured a single storage amount and an $80 difference between sizes. The smallest version started at $399, so I think we all sort of assumed Google would return to that price point. But with the iPhone SE coming in wild af, maybe Google has decided on a last minute change to better compete? At $349 and with 128GB storage, FHD display with hole punch, 6GB RAM, 3000mAh battery, Pixel-level camera, and a fingerprint reader, are we talking about besting the iPhone SE in record time? Write the headlines, folks.
My Moto x4 has been getting weird. Factory reset today. Much better, but if the 4a is $349, I'm in. My wife's 3a is fantastic.
My phone just suddenly stopped recognizing the double tap and squeeze. It was fine, then I restarted, and for some reason it restarted itself again. Now they don't work. I've tried toggling them off and on, but that hasn't worked.
My girlfriend lost use of her auto rotate, auto brightness, squeeze, double tap, etc like 8 months ago. Her sensors work when she gets an update but then they die again after a reboot. Literally all of the sensors die.
So I did a complete shutdown, and the squeeze works now. Double tap still doesn't. That's just really annoying. Probably the most used feature for me.
