My kids are doing remote school. 6th grader has to attend virtual classes, 2nd grades gets his daily assignments emailed to him
my wife has 29 students and she hit her high number today with 10 kids logging in to do the work she posted.
the fact that schools for kids above like age 13 weren't prepared for online-only instruction speaks to a lot of problems in the system schools not having money to develop the infrastructure necessary. kids not having broadband internet outside of their phones in 2020. kids not having access to broadband internet at all.
when this started they are thought they were getting an extra long vacation. I shut that down real quick and told them they were going out at all expect with my wife or me. So only thing we’ve suspended for them is bed times. They are awake till 3-4 in the morning and wake up after 1. I figure they have so much shit to deal with being a dick about sleep schedule would be stupid.
the second paragraph is the issue. the school district of philadelphia needs to do everything uniform so they’re rolling out laptops to everyone who needs them but it won’t be done until 5/1. so until that time they have to make the work optional.
my mom has taught online classes at the community college level since the late 90s. there are instructors at the college who just flat-out refused to learn any sort of online teaching/learning platform. i'm sure calculus is going great for people in those classes right now.
did they rig up wireless routers throughout the city? that would actually be a really good gesture from a company that isn't known for doing things like that
Let the team board know a few days ago but (through a recruiter) I've sent in travel nurse applications to NYC, Detroit, a place in NJ, and a place in Massachusetts. Was hoping to know today if I were to be able to land one and start on Monday. Will keep TMB updated.
I’m not completely sure but I believe it’s using the infrastructure already in place from their “Internet Essential” program geared toward providing cheap internet to low income people.
Honestly have no idea....the podcast mentioned May 11th was the date Macron was confident they would have the testing capacity to test everyone daily. So, just spitballing but guessing it looks like TSA to go to school and if you're sick they turn you around and quarantine you. That's really the only way to open anything back up prior to a vaccine....just determine who is sick on a daily basis and tell them to go home
one of the few things I’m enjoying about this whole thing is comparing every local politician like this to the mayor in Jaws.
will be curious to see the details. Journal is saying that the government wanted partial payback of the money and warrants. Airlines thought it was going to just be a grant (what fucking delusional universe are these companies operating in?). Hopefully it’s closer to what the government wanted.
Just let them have their fun. All those people have already given up on life considering how much Skyline they consume.
If they end up playing college football in empty stadiums, then Cal will have a huge experience advantage
Santa Cruz County looking to ease shelter in place restrictions May 4, allow nonessential stuff like landscaping and construction to resume They closed down parks and beaches completely last week, looking to reopen them to limited use Thursday
Carnival (Holland & Princess) cancelled all their cruises across the Gulf of Alaska for 2020. That move alone will probably put 10-15% of the state out of work.
Hey noodle dick...did I say anything about fans being at the games? Also, if you think I’m getting a vaccine for this shit...lol
Your county might have different restrictions. We've been pretty tight down here, but even so I'm seeing a lot of landscaping and treework being done in Aptos. Wife had one construction job shut down this week because it was deemed nonessential, even though the client and contractor had had her write a letter to the county stating that the structure was unsafe in the event of even a minor earthquake and needed to be shored up before stopping work. No dice, the county said. So it'll be nice if that kind of restriction is lifted
the tweet literally says “no sporting events” you do realize baseball without fans is still a mass gathering? you’re looking at well over 100 people for every. single. game. you’re really fucking slow my god
I got mine today, and 2 others I know that got it are military affiliated as well, but all also in Florida. One just did taxes last week so not sure if that’s a factor. 3 others I asked in NY, Cali, and NC don’t have anything yet.
15-13 night game? Kicker Georgio Tavecchio's false start negates a successful FG attempt? Tosh takes the fall for stalling Chip's offense with fake injuries? The stadium has been rebuilt since then. Tedford tanked, then Dykes sucked donkey balls. Stadium has been pretty empty lately, even though Wilcox has us headed in the right direction
What authority does the president/treasury have to just loan an industry 25 billion dollars? Was Obama's bailouts of the auto industry this way or did it go through congress?
Baseball is happening. I know you guys want a doomsday, but the country is ahead of schedule and will be getting back to normal sooner than later
