It's in that range where is just a little less than too much marked up. After Upton^2 posted thirdbase market I was debating on EGBP 136 for 70 a pop. Its 53 here and if I buy 3 then I get another 10% off so if I don't find any anytime soon I may jump on that.
What is the thoughts on the egbp 136? Debating whether to pick one up. I think I have had it already but it was prior to having the context I have now.
It's the B519 and C919. I personally like the C919 better. Then B519 is a little smoother but its also 122 proof vs 136
Thanks, yes I am going to pick one up then. I thought someone here said c918 the other day and I couldn’t find it, but I see plenty of the c919.
I mean, not terrible for EC23. Retail is 300 and secondary is 400. The PH is from 10/17. You aren't going to find it outside secondary so YOLO.
I found a Larceny Barrel Proof today. It is a little more than retail, but for $55 in this situation I am fine with it.
Pretty much my thought process. Still hate paying above retail on principal, but convinced myself it’s for a good cause.
Very willingly bought A120 (136) for $60 earlier today. By comparison B519 (122) was on the shelf at another place nearby for $70.
mybeercollectibles.com also has lots of bourbon. I'm not sure how good the secondary pricing is there compared to these facebook groups though.
Figured that was probably the case. Prices are pretty ridiculous for beer too outside of the rare deal.
I dunno, now that I have my Trump bucks that Pappy 15 @ $1,050 and ER 17 @ $1,350 are awfully tempting. Not sure I've seen either much lower on the secondary market but I'm not a member of any Facebook groups.
Distillery ships samples of three or four barrels. Smaller guys will send the 2oz clear sampler bottles we PSA around to each other. The bigger players actually send a full box with postcard layouts of the barrel locations in the rickhouse and some of the water they used for purpose of proofing it down. Knob Creek is easily the nicest barrel selection I’ve been a part of, everything packed up in a branded wooden box.
Quick scan on third base market: $50 and $80 for 1792 BiB and FP respectively BouRye for $62 $70 Larceny BP $16 Larceny $28 OGD114 Saz 18 for $900 sold out :( $60 $100 $180 $600 Weller SR, A, 12, CYPB respectively $18 WT101
Haha. Those aren't much higher, but isn't it an auction? I assume they could go up from there. Pappy 15 is around $1k and ER17 around $1100 or so on FB secondary.
well shit.. that site is awesome and I went down a rabbit hole filling up a cart with stuff I've been wanting... similar to every other site, they do not ship to Oklahoma
That’s a state law as I understand it. It’s not up to companies to decide whether or not they will ship to certain states.
oh I know, i just got on the site and clicked around and they didn't have a state list shown on their shipping page or FAQs so I got false hopes up
Sucks that the BP price is so much higher cause its some good shit. But once I get into the 60 dollar range I'd rather have EGBP
really impressed with OF 1897 BiB. I like it more than 4R Single Barrel. I always lumped OF in with Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, etc. cheap standard fare. I need to try the 1910 and 1920 now.
Stopped by the preferred store to see how they were doing business and they had the c919 for the first time. Only had the b519, which I love, so I am excited.
About 3-4 weeks ago I found Buffalo Trace at Costco for like $20 a bottle so I bought 2. Today I went and they are selling it for 27. Motherfuckers. I didn’t buy it on principle.
Local store bought 40 cases of b519 and only put out 4 at a time. The lower proof really allows the flavor of the bourbon to shine.
B519 was here forever, it’s all I saw until today. Wish I had some from the old bottle just to compare side by side.
Have you had some of the other variations? Comparable? I’ve had a few different ones but can’t remember if I’ve had this specific batch. I’m opening tomorrow so I’ll compare it to a similar batch I have open already
