I don’t know if it’s going to work out, but jfc that rumored roster is ridiculous and if anyone can put it all together it’s notail. Guy won multiple majors when there was only like 3 per year, lost the whole team, then won multiple TIs with a completely new one.
Huge, positive improvement if true https://www.liquiddota.com/forum/dota-2-general/555456-major-changes-for-the-dpc -0 minors -3 majors -Regional leagues, 2 tiers in each region -Relegation/promotion between tiers -open Quals into tier2. I think those are all positive changes
skeptical how it'll work tbh. the minors produced a lot of cool game moments and online tournaments kind of suck and are far more likely to have players standing in or to be hit with lag, pauses, disconnects, etc. this is just fewer LANs until otherwise noted and that sucks.
That's been me for a long time, but I suck ha That OG seems loaded, but I wonder how they'll work together. How big a downgrade is losing Jerax to Saska? Guess it'll depend on MidOne, while I never thought much of Ceb he seemed to be pretty underrated winning 2 TIs. Obviously I love Sumail so I see that position a wash, but maybe Ana was a better 1? time will tell.
Im gonna go out on a big limb and say this og squad will not be as successful as their previous iteration
Ceb was shot caller and god tier decision maker. Ana is amazing Jerax is top 3 pos 4 ever. needless to say they will be worse
Ana, to my untrained eye, seems like the best player in dota. He doesn't seem spectacular in lane (and was outright not good as a mid) but mid- and late-game, he's unbelievable. Obviously Notail and Ceb are really smart players and they'll still have that as coaches. I think they lose something without Ceb in-game compared to MidOne, even though MidOne is a far better player individually. TI8 OG was ahead of the meta re: buybacks and played some epic series. TI9 OG was dominant and clearly the best team by a long ways. There's no way this iteration would be that. Even the same roster returning would be close to that imo.
I wonder how much of Ana late game was him or the leadership of Ceb/NoTail like you said. Sumail is a much better player mechanically and in lane historically but he hasn't had the decision making and leadership since the ppd days. Either way, really looking forward to watching them play some dotes soon.
Hot take: N0tail is the best player in dota history. His teams murdered everyone else in terms of map movement while Ceb was still a coach/not shot calling.
EG used to win lanes against them every game and OG would out maneuver them for 30 straight minutes and beat them every time.
Kind of fun watching Sumail get so much space to farm while Topson and OG do OG things. I know these aren't tier 1 opponents, but still solid teams and they're stomping. Really looking forward to the major.
don't look now but this is the best a ppd team has looked since late season optic. qualified for the major/minor playoffs over alliance and have a chance for a top seed over liquid.
yeah his stream is great if you like ppd's personality. dope music, good captaining sometimes. excellent flaming/raging every once in a whilel. he's also up to 8.5k+ mmr so he's playing stacked EU pubs all the time.
If I’m at the gym I do audiobooks, but while I’m running on my treadmill watching dota makes a workout go fast
I mean they did, but everyone in the group outside of Liquid did. Fact they finished 2nd in group when most people probably had Liquid and Alliance ahead of them is probably good. But hey, I'm just an American ppd fangay. I love him and wish him the best even if no one wants to play with him. He's the best.
I was pessimistic it would ever work out for PPD at NiP but Tanner and Daxak both look very good. Taking 3/4 from Alliance and liquid is impressive. They both got top 6 at the major and NiP kinda got fucked with the super hard group/OG being the bottom seed.
Be honest, is it fucked I'm triggered there's no Americans on EG? I became an EG fan at TI5 without knowledge of the game cause they were the NA team. ppd, Uni, aui, FEAR, and freakin Sumail. God that was amazing. I get it, it's about the players, but my bond with EG seems to fade yearly and now there's not a single American on the squad. Maybe we just suck at dota. But i'm at the point i'll cheer for my favorite players over teams.
I mean, tbh i’ve always pulled for players over teams anyway so I don’t really care who’s on what. Esports orgs can go from huge to dead in a year, so pulling for brands never really made sense to me.
triggered seems like a weird word but EG has been super boring and stale since ppd left/was cut. they're one of the best teams in the world, obviously, but they're about as interesting as LGD.
Idk, fans of the game made region important for the pro scene. There's nothing left to root for NA wise. Now we're just a meme, no NA players on EG lol
33 kicked from Alliance because Alliance is the worst managed dota2 org in history so 33 stands in for OG
Sumail is just casually dicking on everyone in the EU tournament while playing on NA ping. It’s hilarious to watch
He’s had arguably a better career from a longevity perspective than anyone. It helps that he’s always been really good at micro heroes and that he’s able to adapt to any strategy. He has been able to lead well despite the meta.
He’s also continually been able to get really really good players to want to play with him which is super important. That seems like a backhanded compliment but I don’t mean it as one.
Recent patches are ridiculously fun. Haven’t had this much fun with dota for awhile. it’s just’a fucking brawling. Group with 4 while carry farms and fight. Fun to pick early fighting heroes with low cooldowns and just fight for most of 30 minutes. My average game length last 20 games is 32 minutes. I think 7.26 will slow down pace with gold nerf. Also will make Alch broken. 3.5K Very High Skill bracket. Mmr inflation indeed!
