I let my wife talk me into putting wallpaper up in a small bathroom. By the end of it I was threatening divorce if she ever asked me to wallpaper again.
That’s actually what I meant to say. We saw it there too. Ended up doing a simple subway tile, which I was fine with giving the price difference.
Just removed probably 300+ feet of old unused phone/cable cords run around the exterior of my house. Satisfying af.
I pretty much refuse to bid by the sq/ft. Too many variables. We do smaller custom homes and they average $150/sq/ft typically. I will give that info to prospective clients with a disclaimer that they could easily overrun it, or come in well less. Big ticket items include sitework, septic, well, design (layout/ framing details), windows and doors (oh holy fuck), finish level on floors, basically anything to do with bathrooms, kitchen cabinets (rape), exotic flooring, and any other upgrade. We use a lot of mechanically sealed standing seam metal roofing, for instance. Basically 3x what shingles cost. I believe that good contractors provide comprehensive bids if they're not lazy. That being said, I'm not a production homebuilder, and don't want to be.
Typically custom from a local shop. 50/50 if we install or the maker does. FYI custom wall and base boxes figured at $300 lin/ft, no countertops. Between cabinets and doors/windows, you're approaching 25% of the material costs of a house.
Does anyone have a recommendation on landscape lighting? I feel like the majority of the options are cheap 6 pack garbage solar lights for $50/total or nice lights for $50+/piece. I am looking for something in the middle that is well reviewed. Also, tried to soft wash my roof yesterday with a 50/50 mix of 10% pool shock and water with some soap. Roof came out spotty but im thinking it was maybe to hot and dried to quick. Any ideas on what could have happened?
Awesome thanks. I did not see that. Other brand I was looking at was volt but its definitely pricey but have heard great things about it.
So got my gas line hooked up to my stove today and my electric igniters will not click. I can manually light the pilot and it works fine but without the electric igniters I have to manually light the stove top and the oven won’t work. Any ideas?
Unsure of this diagnosis, but propane and natural gas require different sizes of nozzle/aperture. I have had to swap them out before, but I don't know if that's your issue. Usually a sticker on the unit saying what it was setup for (fuel) from the factory.
Actually had this happen yesterday. Wife was cleaning everything but I wanted to cook something for lunch so I put one burner back together. Igniter wouldn’t work though, they work fine now with them all back on. Not even really sure why that would keep them from working just coincidentally this was my problem yesterday.
Is this a new stove? The igniters wear out eventually and will need to be replaces. Somehow on mine, the back burners went out but I rarely use them. So instead of replacing them; vvvvvv
Yeah it’s a brand new stove. Ran the gas to it and everything works except for the electric igniters. They don’t even click like they are trying to strike.
Wasn’t anything to assemble other than the gas line and regulator and they work fine. I’m going with broken stove. Emailed customer service and tried to call but they are closed until Monday.
How are the igniters supposed to work Are they electric? Run on batteries or is the stove plugged in?
When you go 60k over budget you buy your own appliances. I did or contracted out everything after the drywall went in on my house.
Those look real similar to stove that is in my new house. When we had the inspection the stove wouldn't lite. Builder did something to fix it. Doesn't help a ton. But maybe it's something simple that you missed.
I keep thinking I’m missing something but I have read the manual all the way through two or three times to make sure I didn’t miss anything and looked up stuff online but can’t find anything.
