Ended up getting some professional photos of my dogs when I did my engagement photos last fall. Think they turned out awesome.
Biggest dog quarantined herself in a bathroom over a thunderstorm that lasted all of 5mins. Gave her a trazodone which finally kicked in, but she still can’t stop shaking or bring herself to come out ~1hr after the storm ended.
Took Groot on a walk. There is a huge grass field near a parking lot it’s empty right now so my son and I stood about 15-20 feet apart and let him run at us. He felt like a freight train. Knocked me over a few times. He is now knocked out and to tired to move out the way.
When the dog park was open Sally would play with a bulldog named Bella, she was a tank, could not catch Sally but if she blindsided her she would knock her over I miss the dog park
We took our dogs for a walk yesterday on the trail that runs right next to the dog park and passed it. The dogs knew what it was and were so excited. Was pretty disappointed we had to just keep walking by it.
Anyone have any experience with their dog eating a small medal object like a paper clip, or ornament look, or sewing needle? My 9 mo old puppy ate a small sewing needle early today. Took her to the emergency vet who confirmed via x-ray that she had but she’s currently asymptotic and has had two bowel movements since. Going back for another x-ray tomorrow but praying that she passes it on her own with the need for surgery. And personal experiences or advice is much appreciated.
The male aussie doodle is so jealous of the baby. They both like him, but they are still getting used to him getting more attention. All they want to do is lick him. Dogs bark at every little thing now, it doesn't phase the baby at all. He actually finds it funny. Spoiler: Dogs
That dog is 100% alpha, we met him when we went to pick out Trudy. He was off leash, not giving a fuck, hip checked me like 3 times, nuts swinging...just had to tip my hat to the guy.
Been practicing my photography during quarantine, these aren't recent but found them when I was going through my camera, realized I almost never post my pack on here. First one is the only one I have ever been able to get them all three in the same frame, they never sit still and they always run when i get my camera out, little wimps. .
Dog (5 month old labradoodle) just ate one of my 4 yr olds socks. Really hope he throws it up sometime between now and when the vet opens tomorrow
You at the beach? Ours are all closed, even dog beach (that’s just for dogs) is closed or are you a rule breaker
All state parks are closed now I believe. They were free admission, but I found out they had been closed after driving an hour to get him out at our favorite one. Since I drove all the way, I Google mapped nearby public access to Lake Michigan and found a small strip of a walking path.
Welp, now at the vet ER getting xrays since he didn't throw it up. Why does shit like this always seem to happen on the weeknds?
Don’t want to sound like a broken record but I miss my boy so much, you guys need to enjoy every moment. That’s a dog that feels comfortable, good looking too.
What did the emergency vet have to say? We just had a Pixel pup who was found on the streets eating garbage, she threw up a bunch of it when she got to the shelter but ended up having to have surgery to remove a corn cob that was blocking an intestine, came through the surgery like a champ though.
He's doing ok. Energy was a bit down today compared to what it usually is. Vet gave us the signs to look for if it gets stuck. As long as he continues keeping food down and doesn't start vomiting or having diarrhea, we should be good and he'll pass it in a couple days.
Oh man. The lady friend is from talequa which she just told me is where "where the red fern grows' is set." I got my two red pups who's secret nicknames have always been old Dan and lil Ann. I'm way way to overly excited about going out their now.
I just randomly thought about that book yesterday and wondered where it was, ment to Google it but didn't remember when I had my phone
Dog finally threw up the sock at 1am last night. 5 days after he ate it. Yay for no surgery, but oof at the $500 emergency vet bill I could have probably been fine not taking him to.
Good news, and you did the right thing. You never know when its going to get stuck in there, can't be too careful.
Congrats dude. My go to source for dog food is this site, https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/diamond-naturals-dog-food/ so yeah it looks like pretty much all the Diamond Naturals recipes are highly rated there.
Thinking about adopting a new buddy. Big Man Sam has been gone for 14 months now. Crazy to think about. I feel guilty for wanting another one, but it is what it is. Would be a dream to adopt a senior dog, but Sam declined pretty quickly after 8 and passed before he was 10. Don’t think I could go through that heart break again so soon. Sucks because I saw a 7 year old GSD for adoption. Looking at Dobermen, German Shepherds, Malinois, some sort of working dog. Anyone have experience with a Doberman or Malinois?
Very cool, good on you for fostering! Do they pull from Texas because CO doesn't have much shelter population?
I grew up with a Doberman and she was the sweetest dog we ever had, much nicer than the Bouvier we had at the same time. Be prepared for people to be scared by her though.
I've been around dogs my entire life, love every breed, and Dobies are the only breed that intimidates me. Probably just a lack of exposure to them as I've never spent more than passing time with them, but there's just something about them.
I’m the same way with bull terriers. Everyone I’ve been around have been awesome and well behaved, but I’m still cautious.
