What did you do? I think low 40s would’ve been ok for one night. If it gets into the 30s I’d cover them. Consecutive nights below 50 degrees aren’t great for them

Mostly finished fencing in the garden. Still need to build a gate for the rabbit pen and we are getting fencing put in along the road next week that will seal in the far end.

I started 72 seed pods, first time I ever tried starting seeds in the garage
Half were tomatoes, half were peppers

This is what is left that is kinda alive
    [IMG]

I fucking suck at starting tomatoes from seed

What lighting were you using? Judging from the way those looked could’ve used supplemental lighting and possibly higher temps

Im using a led grow light I picked up off Amazon
I had a heater in the garage on the other end of the table anytime the outside temps dropped in the 40's
Started moving them out in the sun last week each evening and a few hours this weekend

Yeah I would’ve upped the ante on grow lights. I used bulbs like these with clamp fixtures when I used to start seeds indoors

Well that probably would have been easier and cheaper than the stupid one I bought

I'll pick one of these up next year if I decide to try and not kill a bunch of baby plants again

Typically you’re going to spend a lot to get LED set ups good for growing, I just reverted back to that type of set up. Just have to keep them close to the seed trays too

Just manure. I have a compost pen off to the right of that picture but it’s not much so I’m toning to continue to add to it and use it next year.

Feeling some type of way after looking at (or trying) at bakerscreek and Johnnys and some of the other sites I typically look to. Bakerscreek website is down, saw another not taking orders until May, Johnnys stating 14-18 business days until shipping. For annuals I'm only looking for cannolini beans, patty pan varieties, and a yellow summer s1uash/zucchini which aren't direct sown around here for a while, so hopefully can find some before then. Anyone have luck recently with any online venders?

Also likes for eternity if someone might know the speckled red bean in the bottom right ziplock. I know it's a bush, probably from bakercreek, but blanking.

Leader in the clubhouse.. grew it a couple of years back and threw it in some stews and kept the rest.

Bakercreek's order history is nice when I'm assuming I don't need to label certain things, but not being able to pull up their website atm has me vowing I'll never do that again. Spoiler: I'll do it multiple times this year.

    Thanks fellas

You guys will like this, in the neverending saga that is home/property ownership......
We had 2 enormous oaks taken down about 2-3 years ago, right beside the house in the front yard. Acorns sounded like machine guns on the roof, and white knuckles every time the wind blew. Fast forward to this spring. Finally top the stumps, haul off the last 2 rounds per each, and call the stump grinder. He comes out and kicks some serious ass on them. One was 5' across the butt, one about 4'. So they're gone, and I spread the 15yds of mulch. Concurrently, I unloaded (4) rolls of turf from one of my trailers, that was free from a local high school where the field is being replaced. Rolls are 7.5x33', and with the rubber infill, weigh about 1000 lbs. Tractor won't even really lift, the, just kinda drags them off. Get that done maybe Tuesday of last week, all good. Friday, I am grading the front yard, box blade, rippers, the whole 9. Take about 4" off the terrace (where the trees were) and move all that spoil to a new location poised above a future retaining wall site. Pops is with me, and I am done grading. Ready to get the landscape rake on the tractor and scarify, seed, and mat that bitch. He's like let's pull this root out real quick. Fucker is an inch and a half around max. Hook the chain to it, pick up with the bucket, and immediately blow a front tire. Fuck. Literally no issue with the turf that was way over capacity, but felled by a pitiful oak root. Anyhow, getting new fronts for the beast, and checked on retaining wall block. $7.50 ea for 8x18x12. Seems high, but I think I can do it for less than a grand. Hope you guys are having better luck than I am right now.

    Baker Seeds :respek:

But you're right, they aren't taking orders right now. Things pretty sparse wrt online seed orders

Edit: checked the 5 or so varieties of beans I have, none of them looked like those red speckled ones.

Checked on the hives today. They're filling up with honey quickly. Once they get the moisture content down, they'll cap it over with wax. Have about 5 supers (boxes on top) full, which will be 12-15 gallons worth. Also, my daughter hanging out with a drone we found walking around in the garden (probably dying).

I have absolutely no idea where to put this but I am hoping someone in here will know the answer. My parents’ dog managed to corner and capture an armadillo and got bit on his cheek (little bloody teeth marks.) Dog is up to date on rabies shots but is there any other cause for concern?
