Jack Parkman what do you think about Zuniga? PFF writeup had him as a 5th rounder, basically said that he dominated inferior O-Lineman but didn't show up at all in big games. Accurate? His combine testing is pretty freakish. Would you take him? Have to admit I didn't watch UF that closely last year and he was hurt a ton, but in the 5th I wouldn't mind at least thinking about taking a guy with that kind of athleticism. He may be more of a 4-3 guy though
How could it possibly be true that we would trade up for an OT when most experts say there are 4 elite OT options?
Has talent but makes dumb plays and takes a lot of plays off. Greenard shocked me this year and was flat out unblockable at times. I’d really like him
this year he was hurt for 90% of the season so it was hard to say but considering how well he played in the UGA game last year im curious as to where this “didn’t show up at all in big games” narrative is from
That and how mind bogglingly stupid it would be to trade up for an OT when you don't even have a QB for him to protect.
Has to be bullshit. You have rumors of trying to get up to 3 and 4 for a tackle, when one of Wirfs/Wills/Thomas/Becton will be available at 5.
Greenard was the one who dominated UM in that opener. Zuniga was good but not the force Greenard was.
Omar Kelly losing his shit on his twitter again. Have no idea why he still has a job in the local market. Yeah. He’s really good and I’m tired of covering a mediocre team nobody cares about nationally Quote Tweet Steve Sample @stevesample66 · 29m Replying to @OmarKelly True, what's the deal with Tua???? He must have something on you!!!! Just saying......
If you really liked one of the 4 a lot and you already had a QB, go for it IMO. Don't take the scraps of you have conviction about a guy. But it's completely pointless if we don't have a QB yet.
Don’t believe we’d move to 3 for a tackle for a second. Might do it to lock in a QB, but if they moved up for a tackle Ross might fire Grier by pick 5
Swore Lane Johnson was going to be the pick when they traded up. Jordan ended up busting while Johnson has been to three Pro Bowls in a row. Fuck this franchise so hard.
Guys like Charles Harris...he sucks but I can't hate the guy just because our front office is shitty. By all accounts he's a very hard worker, put in time with JT in the off-season, good guy, all that. Not his fault he's not good. Dion Jordan can go fuck himself though.
It's amazing how little is known going into tomorrow. could either be amazing or a complete disaster and we have no idea whats coming
didn’t read it that way read it that it was discussed at one point before and after he was tagged and it seemed like it was just gauging asking price as opposed to its in negotiations with the pats
Ginn turned into a fairly decent pro, but could have had Patrick Willis, Marshawn, Revis, Timmons, Meriweather, Greg Olsen or Woodley
Brady Quinn was the guys who was supposed to be the pick. Even though he was a bust, how do you pass on a QB in that spot.
Might want to not follow the Herald (Jackson, Beasley, Mando) or Sun Sentinal (Omar) guys tomorrow. They are already in full doomsday mode. Matt Cannata, on the other hand, is quite solid.
He sucked but without hindsight we may as well have picked him. You take your shot at QB until you hit because it ultimately doesn't matter until you do.
Exactly. They took a speed WR who is scared of getting hit instead of taking a much needed shot on a QB. He may have had a solid career, but for a top 10 pick, fuck that.
I don't think it will happen, but some are saying that we may keep the 5th pick and still trade up to 3. They are speculating it'll take 2020: 18, 26 2021: HOU 1st and 2nd Rounder That's a ton, but if Grier can pull that off, I think it'd be great. We would have essentially traded Tunsil (and his big contract) and Minkah for Tua and one of Thomas/Wills/Wirfs. I would be happy with that, personally. Mainly because a QB outweighs everything. I really wish we could have worked it out with Minkah because as a homer I think he's a top 5 player of the Saban era and will be a stud, but he just didn't seem to want to be in Miami or fit in.
There is no way the Lions would move from 3 to 5 and just get a 5th rd pick, even if they thought they'd still get the player they wanted
I don't know how anyone looks back and really complains about this too much anymore. Was he a top 10 pick? Maybe not...but definitely a 1st rounder career. You can split hairs on #10 vs #20 but he had a 1st rounder career and noticeable impact on a lot of football games. You can go back and play the "should have taken a QB" game but really it's not as big of a discussion anymore. They picked a 1st round player in the 1st round. The only thing to really make fun of is the "and his family" speech.
The optics certainly sucked at the time, but if he had gone even 5 picks later, most would have been lauding the pick.
