Pic of the damage? It sounds like it should just be replacing the pedal. Changing the pedals isn't difficult, butt if the crank arm is messed up then yeah I haven't done anything with that yet

It's not perfect but it works. I had a good work out. I'll keep doing it. Going to try to row twice a week at least.

I thought so too, but the rep made it seem like it was more complicated than just screwing in a pedal. Parts just came today and there’s a new crank arm and pedal in the bag.

Ok that might have stripped the threads in the crank arm a little. This is the video I used for changing my pedals when a clip briefly came loose and swapped them out:

Really the trickiest thing is not mixing up the thread direction. But it looks like you'll get the fun of installing the arm too

take advantage of app too. It has strength, yoga, meditation, outdoor workouts. If you’re already into spinning just try different workouts and instructors to see who you vibe with. If not start with low impact and beginner classes.

    Emma for bike and core

Andy Speer, oliver, and Jess sims for strength.

Aditi shah and Dennis morton for yoga.

Most popular are probably Robin and Alex for rides though. They are just a little too over the top for me.

Also I PRd on Emma's 30 min rock ride yesterday at 487. Averaged 271 output which felt great.

try one of the intro or mastering cycling programs which last a couple of weeks and involve several instructors. It's a good way to test multiple instructors and types of rides.

It's really tough but weirdly it didn't feel like a full 45...it's a 30 second all out at high resistance followed by a 90 second at 80% or so, then an easy recovery for a minute then repeat. She sprinkles some more traditional short tabatas in through the rest too.

I sort of prefer those types of super high intensity rides with pure recovery rather than going only 75% but recovery at a tougher level. Pushed nearly 750 calories in 45 minutes.

Read article last night about exercise and immune system - recommended tempering effort levels to make workouts consistent, but not high effort levels as immune system deteriorates with repeated max effort pushes. The article (Wash Post, I think) started talking about people doing extreme activities like marathons to raise funds, but then got down to Crossfit and other coaches monitoring workouts levels and counseling their customers who are pushing hard to back down to more moderate levels with rest days being taken seriously. Something to ponder, though pushing harder seems to help relieve daily stress for me more than tempo riding.

Finally getting mileage numbers back up after radiation treatments, but my power has been crushed by the 7 months of much lower activity levels. Speed is coming back slowly - hardest part of getting heart rate to drop after hard pushes, so my intervals have to be taken more lightly. Also more muscle soreness from muscles that mailed it in the last 7 months. Great to be back in the saddle though, huge psychological boost, esp with stay at home orders confining us in.

Did Kendall's metal ride. I guess it was hard and I wasn't prepared but it absolutely slayed me. Felt like I was getting my butt kicked the entire ride.

Plus - I did Robin Recovery ride and remembered to bookmark it. Like her more in that setting than most rides. Very relaxing. Cute she says to put it in cruise control, then admits to never having used cruise control or ever having a drivers license (NYC born/bred, I think).

Minus - Seriously felt like it was over in 5 minutes (20 min. long really). It was kind of depressing how short it felt and how fast it felt like it dumped me back in our new reality. Did a moderate 20 min ride before recovery ride taking the rest periods much easier than normal. The plus side of a longer ride where you push yourself is it feels longer. I felt warmed up when I was done today, and it was over. Still though, prob good for body. Not good at easy days mentally, yet.

I tried Andy's total strength program (the most marketed one), and granted I am a complete novice at weight lifting, but thought his week one was good and got lost after week two. His moves I thought were more unnatural and didn't feel comfortable at the end of week 2.

Also he expects you to memorize the weights you were using and just said same as last week without specifying if it meant heavy/medium/light (his weight ranges he gave).

I opted to shy away from the rest as was more so worried about form and doing some damage. Probably give it another go when we get something we can watch our form on.

Otherwise stick to yoga and core work.

I need to lift more but what I try to do is upper body one day and lower the next. I just ordered some 10 pound dumbbells which I plan to use on the bike. Currently have 5 pound and 15 pound ones which are either too light or way too heavy to do on the bike.

Yeah his program is pretty good at structuring.

The foundation of it is essentially this:
    Day 1 - Upper body
    Day 2 - Cardio/yoga
    Day 3 - Lower body
    Day 4 - Cardio/yoga
    Day 5 - Full body
    Day 6 - Off day/light cardio
    Day 7 - Strength complexes

I think I may try and stick to his week one routine and then focus on just lifting based on his week 1 as those moves varied but didn't feel so unnatural.

I'm on week 4 of speers program. I was lifting fairly seriously prior to covid shutdown and his program is completely different and meant for at home. Having said that I've really enjoyed it. He's very knowledgeable of body movement and the warmups are great. Feel really good.

Been mixing in the bike and yoga too similar to the schedule someone posted above.

I've also done Emma core program, which is good because it starts off at a beginner level and works up. I was very out of shape when I started.

I've done Robin's tabata program as well but that is a big commitment to riding. Hard to do anything else because those workouts are hard and lengthy. Might be more manageable now that most have more time at home on their hands.

Welp, my bike arrives today but no shipping info on the shoes/accessory package. Wife called and they said the accessories are on back order and they don’t have any more information to share. She was on hold for two hours.
Doesn’t sound like I am going to be able to ride when I get home.

Same for us, almost. 2.3 years of ownership. Our bike has one small issue we just deal with b/c we're lazy, and not very fussy about stuff. Around 1200-1300 rides (three family members). No issues worth calling service for since purchase.

my biggest issue thus far has been a “P” starting to lose some of the adhesive. I just whip it down every 4 days or so. I should really do it more. It is well made sturdy bike.

Our issue is the gasket/bracket/whatever you call it where the handle bar stem goes in the bike frame. When raising the handlebars, it comes up slightly with the bars. I just raise the handlebars, push down the ring, and I'm off. Since I'm the only one raising handlebars, I'm the only one who even notices it.

Bonked like a champion tonight. Last 7 min were pure agony. No cool down ride possible. Just mask of pain on face while slumped on handlebars for 5 min after ride. I'm so overcooked. Can't sleep due to pinched nerve, and just exhausted now. Getting nerve block when clinic reopens.

New program they added. You slowly grind past some slightly slower riders in a crowded encore ride, and then you die a painful, premature bonky death while they laugh at you when passing you back. Niche program, but give it a shot.

Approaching 1,000 total workouts with Peloton. First year was hit or miss when we were down in Arkansas given I was working like a mad man. But since moving to Indy been using it almost every day and showing.
