I really enjoyed the game as well but the lack of content is horrible. I agree moving forward but I do not play any other shooters. Is there even anything that compares? I hate COD.
BF games are the only games I preorder. Never again. I'd love to read a tell all about this game. Such impressive incompetence from the get-go. Terrible PR, terrible map choices, flip flopping on TTK, and on and on. I don't see how the heads of DICE keep their jobs, but you know they will. They pushed out anyone who went against them. The game was revealed with a DICE exec telling us not to buy the game if we didn't appreciate their "vision"
Yeah, this game was fucked right when the trailer dropped and everyone was collectively like "wtf, is this Battlefield?". You had a franchise spanning decades that made a name for itself with a WW2 title, and they threw it all away when it should've been a slam dunk. Basically everything they told us about the live service was a lie.
I’ve been playing video games since Nintendo dropped. My first ever online multiplayer game was Star Wars Battlefront and I was pretty good. Routinely drop 50-80 kills a game in the small map modes. I would constantly go up against coordinated squads and just have fun. My little brother sent me B4 and told me to give it a try and I was hooked. Preordered B1 and played it nonstop. Just an amazing realized game. Then B5 dropped and I’m not one of those people who gets caught up in the minutiae. Just give me a fun multiplayer experience that I can grind, get better and master to the best of my abilities. I was still playing, not complaining and having fun....until the CoD gunfight beta dropped. Things haven’t been the same, I can’t even play B5 anymore.
Yeah I tried, I have a ton of friends on there as well but it's just not even remotely fun for me. My first game was Socom 2, eventually moved to COD just to fix the itch, then eventually fell into BF series. My problem is that I am not a run and gun type of player.
Funny you say that, I’m a Leeroy Jenkins type run and gunner and apparently this CoD is much more slow paced. It’s forced me to slow down. It’s definitely a transition.
I love Battlefield's low TTK game play, and I don't like how forgiving most other shooters are. Not sure what else besides COD is out there.
Definitely miss the low TTK which led to some really fun 1 v 1 fights. The snipers in CoD are bull shit because it’s 1 hit kills anywhere on the body. I think the difference in weapon class set ups are better in Battlefield. Turning an SMG into an assault rifle that can melt you across the map is fucking dumb.
Had a group of 8 in a party and it was a blast. Game is so much fun when you actually have people to play with. Went Rambo on a bunch of vehicles rolling into C on Aerodrome.
Last time I was in an 8 person party we held out the runway on Al Sundan with 7 fliegerfausts and a flak panzer. Sky was a little darker that round.
Nice summation of their continued problems with server balance. From Breakthrough that’s supposed to be 32v32. Round starts 38v21
It's been a while, but I played a bunch today and it was fun. Had some decent runs with the trench gun on Operation Underground.
I find that happens right after a game ends with a full server. People bail out and the teams are lopsided from the get-go.
teams definitely get lopsided after a game ends but no 32 v 32 match should have a team with 38 players.
Been playing a bit. Still love the general feel and how the weapons shoot. But since I've been only play Apex the past year I'm just not the same. BF better add power sliding or a version of it. But yeah. The maps are lame af still. How the fuck have they not made D Day yet? Just terrible job all around.
Yeah I keep saying to myself. "Oh right. That's why I fucking hate EA." Everything was a cash grab. They clearly wasted time and resources on Firestorm - unmitigated disaster. Btw entirely EA suits decision go shoehorn that hunk of shit into the game. They insisted on the most absurd ww2 locations that didn't spark any hype. What a let down. Hopefully they keep the gun play going forward. But I have a love for those WW2 era weapons. I'm not a fan of modern tech shooters. But whatever. It is what it is.
See from a historical aspect the way they released the maps had me really excited. Not here to argue historical context because it’s a video game, but I genuinely thought it lined up for tons more content based on the war. I did enjoy the content that was released and as a result they could have at least milked another solid year out of the game with random euro weapons from the war and new maps. Agree with you on the BR, it was a horrible attempt at grabbing the flavor of the month, and a cash grab, when I think a very large portion of the community would rather just pay for new content or maps. Completely out of touch.
I giggle every time I notice I have all my assault and medic weapons gold minus the new ones. What a cunt.
Nothing earth shattering, but flushing this guy out from behind this burned out tank was immensely satisfying.
My friends have been on a big Iwo Jima Breakthrough kick and it’s been great. Hopefully Dice learned some lessons from the pacific expansion.
I still cry inside when I see this game. It’s tough because I got my money worth for sure, but I would have spent more for fucking maps. Or history, I don’t care really was a great looking game and autistics are amazing. I tried to go back but it just felt like COD to me.
All the leaks, the exodus of the people responsible for so many of BFV’s faults, and all the man power behind the next battlefield has me pretty pumped.
