We aren't drafting a QB. I've seen some scenarios with the dolphins giving us two firsts and a first next year. I'd be tempted
A team that needs help in multiple areas, trading down would be smart; but also hard to pass up on the best overall player. Win/win for Wash, IMO.
Ok, so serious discussion.. for the 1st time In forever the Redskins have minimum 63 million dollars for free agency. Who are we targeting (with the thinking they are set on taking Chase Young)... Thoughts? They need to get some offensive talent to surround Haskins, and they need DB's. Anyone have an idea where they will go with their cap space?
Oh, and here's a good article about how much Rivera loves Young.. he's going to be a Redskins. https://redskinswire.usatoday.com/2020/03/02/rivera-doing-cartwheels-on-way-to-draft/
Resign Brandon Scherff. Extend Trent to give him some guarantees he wants and hope he can play football and likes new staff. Frees up cap space with 1-2 year extension Find a hundred other pieces and more OL
I feel for Trent but he's been through some shit, I would not extend him at this point. Wouldn't extend Scherff either but options are few and far between for good OL so whatever. Draft Chase, hopefully spend wisely on free agency and Dwayne improves. Do think Haskins is feeling a bit of pressure now, love the dude but he was a diva coming in.
It's a mortal lock they franchise Scherff In order for me.. Corner is a must.. their defensive line is set. They need a top tier corner OL Haskins has the tools, and the body, but he needs time in the pocket. They have to sign some Hogs to protect him. Haskins is certainly not a scrambler. WR McLaurin was a breakout player last season, and they need another burner to compliment him to open up the field. TE With Reed, and Davis done, they have to get a proven TE who can block, and make plays. They currently don't have one on the roster. Is that about right, or did I miss anything?
I'm not sure which is worse. We gave up a 5th round pick for a back up QB Traded our starting CB, who was pretty good, for a 5th round pick. I mean, if we let him walk after this year I'm sure we get a better comp pick
Approaching this offseason like a team that's gonna tank next year. There's still good WRs and corners out there and we're not signing any and traded away our only good corner.
He’s 32 with all his health issues and wants the biggest tackle contract in the league Nobody is gonna give a decent pick for him given that
Day before the draft. Doesn't seem to be much floating around about a team wanting to move up to #2, was hoping to get a massive haul from a team like the dolphins and get 3 picks in the top 40 for 1 pick. Nocking out OT/WR/CB would have felt good. Chase will still be a nice consolation prize Any chance we can get a 2nd round pick for Trent?
There's a ton of smoke that Cleveland wants him, plus Callahan is there. Ideally we can get a second, the browns have 2 3rds and I've read some that both of those might do it too. I really hope we don't fuck it up and are stuck with him after the draft
Guys, we haven't had much to cheer about for a long time. New coach, new Regime, Clean slate.. We just got the best player in the draft. We didn't fuck it up. Today is a good day.
Where Eagles Dare Do you think we try to make a trade to get into the 2nd round?? I'm hearing we are trying.
If that trade includes Trent, sure. I don't want to trade away a bunch next year to get into the 2nd for a WR
No, I heard they are targeting a WR in the 3rd, but love a couple WR they are afraid might not slip to them in the 3rd.
Seems like all the teams that had a massive hole at LT got them in the 1st round. So that sucks. Best case, we get something in the back of the 2nd and can snag one of the last WRs, like the kid from Colorado. I just feel like we're going to get nothing
I don't think we can dislike our draft right now. Really like our 3rd round pick and hopefully make a solid 4th. No second sucks, but Sweat was a steal last year and turned it on over the final 8 games. He's going to be really good. Trent destroying a trade with Minn is disappointing. Probably get nothing for him now. Or a 21 pick from San Fran
Sahddiq Charles is a great pick. He smokes some weed, whatever. That's most of his "bad" character. The non-GM led Front Office is doing well. I wish we could have gotten more for Trent, but a 3rd/5th isn't awful. Only thing that sucks is they'll both be end of the round picks
Hopefully someone like Byrce Hall from UVA keeps facing to us in 15 or so picks. Then maybe snag another good WR in the 5th. There's still a couple left thst are talented.
The kid has serious serious potential.. He's big, strong, WR which is exactly what we lack. Here is CBS thoughts on the pick. 142. Redskins: WR Antonio Gandy-Golden, Liberty Grade: A. Awesome value here for Redskins, and they needed WR badly. Gandy-Golden is big, really plays to his size, and attacks the football in the air as well as any WR in this class. Some separation ability and YAC. Awesome addition for Dwayne Haskins.
Seems to at least be good value, ranked 115 overall. having a lot of good OL is never a bad thing. Seems like we really have to go corner on our next pick Keith Ismael FOLLOW 6'3"309 lbsSan Diego State 5POS RK 112OVR RK 67GRADE 0:54 Keith Ismael's NFL draft profile Check out the highlights of former San Diego State center Keith Ismael. Pre-Draft Analysis Ismael is a technically sound pass-blocker who works his hands inside and fights to stay in front of his assignments. He's quick and tends to take sound angles climbing to the second level in the run game. He's tough and blocks to the whistle, but he fits better in a zone-heavy scheme than he does in a power-heavy scheme. Ismael has some experience playing guard. -- Steve Muench
