Holding the Rams to 10 points is pretty crazy. Their offense appears to be the real deal. Our lack of a running game is going to be a backbreaker through the season as we fail to sustain drives. Game should have been closed out, but instead we had to kick another FG. I'm going to flip if we don't draft OL early and often in the offseason. It's the only thing holding this team back, and it's holding them back quite substantially.
Yikes The Seahawks’ offensive line ranks 30th allowing 85 total pressures (7 sacks, 15 hits, 63 hurries). The biggest offender is Rees Odhiambo. He ranks 59/60 offensive tackles with 30 pressures allowed (2 sacks, 6 hits, 22 hurries). Justin Britt, on the other hand, ranks 3rd with three pressures (1 sack, 1 hit, 1 hurry). And the good Bobby Wagner is dominant this year. He ranks 4th in run stop % (11.2), 2nd in pass rush productivity with 6 pressures, first in tackle efficiency with only one missed tackle in 313 snaps, and 7th in yards per cover snap with 0.74. Richard Sherman is 5th in yards per cover snap only allowing 0.45. Shaquill Griffin is roughly average allowing 1.09 yards per cover snap. A bit surprised by Sherman being 5th. It doesn't even seem like he's seen a pass his way this year.
and you gave up in the first quarter We might very well lose but this team doesn't start playing until the 2H. You know this.
This team absolutely has to address the OL. I'm giving the D a pass for now with injuries, but it's getting pretty close to blow up and rebuild time on that side. They're getting old and shit We have to start focusing on building an offense around Wilson and shifting the money towards that end.
Don't know what to think about cable. It seems like he thought he was hot shit that could make a decent OL out of a bunch of late round scrubs. Maybe he was told he had to try and do that, though There look to be some exciting possibilities at OC from FG's rundown of candidates. It's pretty clear we need to start tooling to become and offense-lead team.
Time to build around Russ. Need a innovative OC and capable OL. JS needs to draft actual OL and not projects
Maintaining a championship caliber team is hard as balls. Coaches get poached and studs get older/injured. Kam is done, Sherm will never be the same, OL has been a trainwreck for a couple seasons now, RB projects have been bad, Doug Baldwin is 29. That being said, the Russ is a total stud, and there are lots of pieces to build around. I love Shaq Griffin. KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner should have a couple damn good years left, if they can stay healthy. Hopefully Malik McDowell is a stud next year. Maybe Chris Carson can stay healthy and live up to the preseason hype.
I was reading FieldGulls the other day. They raised the idea that Kam could move into a coaching position on the staff. I also believe that RS25 is at the end of his career. I'm curious how they address the OL & RB situation via the draft.
I don't hate the pick. But I did really want Montez Sweat. Where do we go from here? Could we possibly get Jawaan Taylor?
Taylor, Greedy Williams or Byron Murphy make sense. I don't want to trade the pick as there are impact players available. Want to avoid DK Metcalf at all costs. I'd love to see a WR in R3 and I could see us packaging our 4s to move up tonight.
I want nothing to do with DK. As an LSU fan, I can say that Greedy doesn't fit the typical SEA cornerback mold. He's a ballhawk and can cover. But he's a grab you by the ankles tackler. I would be cool with Taylor or Byron.
Value wise I don’t hate the pick. But homeboy only knows how to run one route. Also, dude needs to lay-off the weights and hit a yoga class.
sideline to sideline speed and a tackling machine. Better than average in coverage. He's had shoulder issues in his career but played through them. Including a torn labrum last year. Honestly a prototypical seahawks linebacker
Happy to have you bump this thread. We're never happy with first round picks but I love this way more than Collier. Just would have preferred a DL but if we resign Clowney this pick feels better
