I think your common sense is self serving, partisan bullshit. But I do hope you and your wife stay healthy. The less amateur gardeners on the road, the better for you.
Gotta put it in terms the Trumptards understand: The more stringent the social distancing measures, the less people die. That's an indisputable fact, and facts don't care about your feelings. Also it was only like 4 weeks. Wow, boomer Dave couldn't go to his vacation house for 4 weeks? The horror. Maybe he should suck it up and quit being a bitch. Also, maybe Aunt Betty should have made better life choices than surviving as a barely solvent horticulturist.
Yeah, I didn’t vote for Trump nor do I ever plan to. Get bent. 1. A singular guy walking around a house installing a retaining wall or planting a tree serves no risk to anyone. None. 2. The vacation home was just an example but if people pay taxes on a property they have a right to go to it. Or at least that’s how they feel. Stop charging taxes, then you can decide who visits. 3. My uncle died of cancer last year and ran the business and she’s trying to figure out what to do with it and how to do it. This is her first full season alone. Go fuck yourself bitch.
Ill only talk about 1 and 2. In order for him to do that work how many other places have to be open? If more are open more are working thus more people crossing paths. I tend to agree that things can be worked out in some of these cases but I also see the big picture, it can fucking wait. Who gives a shit about taxes man. Seriously that has to be the most bizarre reason to just say the hell with it I have to go up north while they got snow just to escape my main residence. If this was June - Sept I could understand this complaint from people a lot more. Snow birds were barely planning a return to our state when this started. Sorry about the passing of your uncle, cancer fucking sucks.
Thanks. He had been battling it for awhile. Recovered, but then it came back quickly and aggressively. These situations with work for people can be really complicated, that’s all.
Haha, can you imagine being this shitty if a person? Whatever dude. I am not looking for sympathy, just saying these situations can be really difficult for some people. But continue being miserable.
Hey don't be mad at me buddy. Those weren't my original thoughts. I just took what everyone else was saying and translated it into chud for you.
Appreciate it. All things considered we feel fortunate. 2cm stage 1 thankfully. Removed with clear margins in January all pathology was good with no spread so chemo and radiation not needed. She elected to move forward with a double mastectomy with reconstruction which is scheduled for 7/30. Will be laid up 2 months but hopefully put it in the rear view. Fuck 2020
I said Whitmer’s executive order lacked common sense for certain businesses/situations and that other options could potentially be explored. You responded with you don’t give a shit about people dying of cancer and the ramifications that has on a family business that could still operate within the guidelines provided by the governor, and I am the bad guy? You’re a joke.
Hey, if you think that type of attitude is a joke maybe should think twice about indulging your MAGA tendencies next time, lest you align yourself with that group. But please tell me more about some guy's tax burden on his vacation home he couldn't go to for a few weeks.
1. It isn't a singular guy. It's 10,000 singular guys who might chat with the homeowners, who will stop and get gas and smokes, who might need something at Home Depot, who stop by McDonald's, who break down and call a tow truck, etc. 2. Don't care. Lots of people are paying taxes for something they can't use, and that money is getting cycled back to police and firefighters, hospitals, teachers trying to remote teach, unemployment for people who can't work, essential workers, etc. If that offends your conservative sensitivities, oh well. 3. That sucks and I am sorry. It would be worse if some asshole gave her COVID-19 while she was open.
I am genuinely curious then what you think the most appropriate plan is for opening things back up. It’s no secret West Michigan has not been hit as hard by this as other parts of the state. We get emails from our Covid response team that says the hospital is prepared, they have several plans, and they feel like they can handle the expected spike in cases if things are progressed slowly. There are physicians posting their thoughts daily. If the point was to flatten the curve and not overwhelm the health system, and the health system feels prepared, then how do you proceed? They went so far as to say they want the hospital busier, they want their furloughed staff to return. They’ve seen a spike in emergency procedures because people are scared to come in for things they need to be. Emergency surgeries have seen a big increase unnecessarily. And if you feel like you need to do it by county in a more regional approach, have at it. Again, these are messages from important, smart, knowledgeable people within our organization who have had countless hours of discussion with these issues. Obviously many think the 4 tiered approach NY was proposing is beneficial but if you have a problem with singular landscapers going back to work (who would probably be labeled in the lowest tier), I don’t see a way out of this any time soon......and people are going to do what they want in a few weeks regardless of what Whitmer says.
I'm perfectly fine opening up in phases if the data supports it. If you remember, this started with me making fun of selfish a-holes whining about their hobbies, and then evolved to me somehow needing to explain that peoples' actions affect other people, notwithstanding their "common sense." At no point was I arguing against moving forward if it makes sense to do so.
For those in hard hit spots like Detroit or Oakland County, once they roll out opening restaurants back up (with restrictions), how long would you wait before you dined in? I want to believe I would wait indefinitely but there are one or two places I would go support if they opened back up.
Yeah this started with you pointing out changes to frivolous recreational tasks. I was just pointing out there were several way more important changes that also took place with her new order that is going to help a lot of people in a lot more impactful ways.
...his vacation home that he wasn’t fucking going to to in March & April to begin with. “People pay taxes on their second homes!” - what spectacularly disingenuous bullshit.
Supposed to be a nice week all together. Long overdue. Will get people out of the house and hopefully not complaining about being home until 5/15.
Interesting looking over Dewine's opening plan. 3 week staged opening of sorts. Seems sensible and still limiting gatherings of more than 10. I assume ours will look something similar. I do wonder how long gatherings of 10 will be inplace?
I've gotten twelve rounds in this month so far and plan on playing tomorrow as well. Not bad for the shitty weather we've had. This upcoming wknd looks great.
I feel like the gatherings thing lasts through the 4th to limit the potential of huge spread at a community firework show.
I absolutely agree with the timeline of after the 4th. I wonder if the number of 10 moves to 25 like it was prior to the stay at home order. I coach baseball with a guy that seems to think this is all a farce and everything will be all clear for all baseball on 5/15. SMH
Can't wait to see hear about his reaction to the parent who sends his kid to bat with a bandana around his face.
I just wish they would pull the plug on the season already but youth sports has become nothing more than a money grab so that won't happen until the very last minute.
Based on our progress that seems more likely. Maybe even mid June. Honestly think if we keep clipping 1k new cases a day wouldn’t shock me if only the little that was set to open is all that happens with addition of elective operations added.
I'm 9 weeks from my last haircut this Saturday. I can probably carry it another couple weeks until hockey hair is in effect. My son needs a mohawk desperately.
same. I have 18 booked. I’m thinking it will take 3 hours to walk 9, so maybe call it quits after that.
Took the afternoon off and going to walk 18 this afternoon. Courses are going to be a zoo this weekend.
Where I play is an old city course that has tees right next to greens and about 6600 yards from the tips. Depending on the type of betting involved, a foursome walking has been taking about three hours total to finish 18. Seeing it be about the same time as in carts because people are heading straight to their own ball instead of riding to their partners, watching him hit, going to yours, etc. Getting 18 in the next three days for sure. Beautiful out.
