Honestly don't know much about him but in the highlights I've seen so far he doesn't look shifty or fast at that's against pac12 defenses. Hopefully I'm wrong but doesn't look like a first rounder let alone 3 picks. I give the pick a c-.

We could have stayed put and gotten him or similar WR or traded down and picked up a second and fourth gotten a similar WR, gotten a quality OT and DB.......our secondary when our pass rush isn’t there sucks and we don’t be upgrading it? And if Kinlaw is a stud rookie year probably still doesn’t perform to Buckner level and Aiyuk probably isn’t on par with sanders his rookie year......Taylor can’t be trusted at all health wise and Hurd is the great wild card

I really like the Kinlaw pick :idk:

I don’t think there is much difference between Aiyuk and players like Higgens, Pittman, or Mims. Just going to have trust Shanahan’s evaluation there.

agreed which is why I think we should have stayed at 31 and could have gotten one of those 4 and had 3 more picks to address OT and DB, now what are the odds we find a quality player with the 5,6,7 round picks we have left ? Oh well I’ll trust Lynch and Shanny

WOAH....Niners give us a 5th this year and 3rd next year for Trent Williams. That's a fucking steal depending on what they can do with his contract. Absolute monster.

So Staley must not be coming back then I’d take it.

How long has Trent been holding out for? Maybe Staley still comes back but it gives them time to get him up to shape and up to speed playbook wise.

Forgot Shanny was in Washington so Trent has familiarity there w/ playbook and coaching staff.

Going all in next year it looks like, he’s probably a rental

Is he though? If Staley does retire we need someone to take that place. I remember when we traded with, I think it was the patriots, to draft a TE named Joe Staley out of a directional michigan school with the hopes that he could become a tackle. One of the bigger hits imo.

Don’t think Williams is a rental imo. Staley is gone and Willians is an elite LT. He’ll be costly but you can sign him to a four year deal with an opt-out in year three.

You going to pay him top dollar at 31? When ur already cap squeezed?

If you are a legit SB contender for next 2-3 years, I think you have to lean in that direction.

Assuming Williams is healthy, 31 isn’t really that old. If you can get great LT play for the next three years it’s worth it. Plus, Staley retiring saves quite a bit of cap space.

I feel like if they sign Trent long term next off season they might move on from Dee Ford.

yeah been hearing that too, I guess we are really confident that Blair will be 100% once Ford went out second half of the year the pass rush looked mediocre and the secondary as well

Plus he's got less wear and tear than other 31 year olds due to the time he took off this year.

Just took a third team AA offensive tackle out of WVU. I guess some insurance in case they don't work an extension or maybe just another swing tackle backup type. I kind of wanted Bryce Hall or Tyler Johnson there.

Looks like we traded Breida to get that 5th rounder from MIA so I guess we could afford to take another OT. I like it more knowing that.

Yeah Breida had to go I guess and get Wilson some more run next year or the Jet if he ever steps on the field

Definitely fine with trading away Brieda. This tackle they just took doesn’t sound very impressive, but I honestly know nothing beyond the few blurbs I just read about him.

    what did you read?

The way I see it is he’s a 5th round tackle has right size and played a lot at WVU seems like a project that they can work on and see if he turns out to be something.

Apparently he can play guard as well which is where we were most vulnerable this year. One of the draft guys said he's not super athletic but covers up his deficiencies by being big and mean. Said he had as many pancake blocks as anyone in the draft.

I tell you, between losing Breida and Goodwin, my team speed on Madden is really suffering here.

    Another 3.7M off the books.

Getting Williams was a nice move, but I’m bummed about Staley retiring. Obviously he was a good player but he seemed like a good guy off the field and really embraced being a 49er. He went through all of the ups and downs, sucks he wasn’t able to get a ring.

Jennings is a nice late pickup. He has some talent if he can fly straight.

With the way this Rodgers situation is unfolding it will be interesting to see what they do depending on how Jimmy plays this year.

Deebo broke his foot, had surgery, but is roughly expected to be back before week 1. I never like foot fractures though, those seem to nag.

Agree with the above on add in the interior line. Hopefully, the defense can hold serve until the offense gets to fuller health.
