dont get me started on kemp’s ineptitude in making this decision. so everything but bars and nightclubs can open by Monday, but only if they follow the strictest of social distancing measures he has yet to release. Additionally, no municipal police departments have any jurisdiction to enforce these provisions. It’s going to be a wild free for all and people will die. We didn’t want to open City Hall to the public until June at the least. However, this will place immense pressure on us to do so. People I know will die because of this decision. I’m certain of it.
This is so dumb. Everyone was criticizing Jacksonville for opening beaches, and Kemp’s reaction is “hold my beer, let’s open the state.”
Some of it I understand, particularly the medical procedures, but why the fuck would you open gyms and tattoo parlors?
Front-Runner for Country’s Dumbest Governor to Reopen Essential Bowling Alleys, Nail Salons Friday Brian Kemp seemingly asked for a list of the businesses where people are in closest proximity, a key factor to spreading COVID-19, and said, Let’s start with those. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/04/brian-kemp-georgia-bowling-alley
Nearly every type of business on the list is typically a small business. It makes sense that there’s an effort to keep them all from failing, but unfortunately they all entail close contact with others. I guess keeping entertainment/luxuries going was deemed more important than peoples health.
Only an idiot would be pumped about this but you are a Trump supporting idiot, so this makes a lot of sense.
I’m not putting your family in danger, keep your family home if you are worried - no one is stopping you While I’m not a Kemp fan at all, I know how hard it is for some of the local businesses in Midtown to make it under perfect circumstances - 3 restaurants have closed down on my block since I moved here (before COVID). Shit, I go to either Cafe Agora or Tabla in midtown every other day to help keep them afloat. My barber put his life savings into opening up his new shop late last year and I’ll be there on the first day they open
I mean, I get it done for free and a hit towel. Seems like a bit of a rip off. A wash out after a cut is always good
He does a hot towel shave as well with the cut. A lot of young professionals get their cut during lunch so I’m assuming that’s the reason for the upcharge
https://atlanta.eater.com/platform/...oom-service-covid19?__twitter_impression=true Restaurants are revolting and telling Kemp to fuck off
So.... you’re sharing that he’s debating opening? Honestly the majority of restaurants, bars, and shops that have posted they’re not opening have gained a ton of respect from me. I don’t really understand you’re whole perspective on this based on what you’ve posted. If you’re worried about the actual business owners(Which is what it sounds like) if they’re open for take out then they’re probably doing just fine. If you’re worried about their staff, probably less so.
Fuck that I’m rolling on Friday, Kemp or not. That second biggest bitch from Athens can’t stop the kingpin of Cobb county.
Taken on my girlfriend's road this morning in Reynoldstown. Someone posted it to her neighborhood Facebook group. Probably not worth posting, but I think it's cool, and got weirdly excited by it.
Nah man, barred owls are definitely worth posting. It seems like migratory birds in Atlanta have exploded over the past few weeks. Warblers, tanagers, vireos, grosbeaks, and buntings are all moving through right now. I haven’t ventured too far from my neighborhood, but I’m probably going to take my binoculars to memorial park/Northside beltline this afternoon to see if I can find anything cool. Apparently the birding in Lullwater has been incredible this week based on a few conversations I had.
We've got one in our neighborhood and I've seen it once in the few years it has been here. Definitely photo and post worthy
