I’ve been dealing with what I believe to be hallux rigidus in my left big toe. It’s killing me to run now, and this has been like this for about 4-6 months. Need to go see the Ortho.

So frick’n pissed the losses I’ve had running the last 5 weeks. Was sick for a week and then hurt my back sciatica a couple weeks after that. Went from running 5 miles in about 8:40 pace to 5 weeks later running it in over 10 pace, struggling to run 2 miles straight. Lost all my gains over the last year in 5 fucking weeks.

Dude I went out today for a two hour run and like four or five miles in I looked up at the bluest sky and just felt amazing. Smiled while I ran. Rarely do that. Just felt awesome.

First 5mi run today. Did it in 48min (my neighbor is super hilly). This week, I only skipped yesterday. Sunday 3.5, Monday 3.5, Tues 3.2, Weds 3.5, and then 5 today. New Ultraboosts arriving in the mail today.

Skipped yesterday and was just down in the dumps, moody, and stressed all day. Feel a lot better right now.

You do you -- but IMO it's probably not a great idea to run every day.

Got a virtual half tomorrow. PR is ~1:37. Aiming for 1:35. Been the best training I’ve ever had. Didn’t miss any runs and have improved my time as the months have gone on. Should be low 60s when I get out.

You will get them back much faster though. I always take 2-3 weeks off after a 3-4 month segment and the first two weeks back suck, then it comes back plus some.

Have I bragged in here about running a 1:23 half a couple weeks ago yet ? If not, here is me bragging about it. 6'24 per mile.

I think I’m running into my back/sciatica tightening up and I’ve lost some of my cardio. I’m gonna keep plugging away and get my gains back.

I have a pair of ultra boosts that I love, but I hated running in them (which was their original intended purpose.) My neighborhood is very hilly with a lot of turns and I needed something with more ankle support and better traction.

My Activities app to Strava sync is being weird and I can’t figure out my exact time like I was hoping to. Ended up running 13.17 with a time of 1:36:24. Pretty sure I was a shade under 1:36 for my half, so a new PR!

    Update: Deleted and re-synced. 1:35:56.

Went out faster than I should have and didn’t really notice too much wind so either it was at my back without me realizing it or it picked up when I turned around because the back half was a bitch. Back hurt a little too but was able to keep my pace close to 7:15 overall. Pretty pumped and feel like I can keep getting better.

Yeah, not to pile on, but I highly advise not to run two days in a row. Through in biking or some other type of cardio. You’ll develop a chronic injury from not letting your Achilles and other tendons/muscles heal up. Once you get it once, it really never goes away. I developed Achilles tendinitis about 5 years ago from running 5 times a week and I still battle it to this day. Every few months it comes back and I have to shut it down for a few weeks. It sucks.

I think it depends on miles and speed if you can run 2 days in a row. If you’re not totally killing it 2 days in a row is doable.

Had an awful run today. Was going to do 6 miles, but woke up and every part of my body was achy or sore plus a terrible headache. Got to 3 miles and just said “Fuck it” and walked home.

Think it was from eating like trash the past week and taking off part of this week. Just planning to get some good food in today and tomorrow and start back into it on Monday with my regular schedule.

Similar had a rough run earlier today. I did 5.5 yesterday at 8:01 and had an average BPM of 131. Today I did 5.1 at 7:59 and my average BPM was 158 and I spent quite a bit of time in the 170s. Makes no sense but I felt like shit.

I’m so old. My coworker asked me if it was 1998 when he saw i was tracking my runs in Notepad. Downloaded Track My Run (where were y’all on that?) today. The hills in my neighborhood are rough, so I’m not setting any speed records.

I'm a psycho so I've been doing Nike Run Plus and Adidas powered by Runtastic
I got in 4.09 at 36:53 before 7 this morning like a true psychopath. I took yesterday off so I hope to hit a park tomorrow instead of just my neighborhood. Even though its going to freeze my balls off because we have a weird ass cool front coming through, like wtf?

For the last 3 weeks my runs have started great and somewhere along mile 3 I crap out and roll the last 2-3 like a car with a flat tire. With quarantine hadn’t eaten as clean as I’d like. Adjusted diet accordingly and 7 miles at a good clip yesterday. Man getting old sucks.

Hadn't been running much because I prefer to just play soccer but been on the trails again as of social distancing/quarantine. Got my cardio right but still trying to figure out the balance so that I can do the kind of distances I want to do regularly (and continue improving). Right now I'll get through 7 miles at an 8:45 or so, but it will require 3 days of recovery - if I try on day 2 I can get through 3.5-4 at a similar pace before my legs are just too tired. Annoying.

oh sorry. I do love trail running definitely - I tend to treat it like a game where the challenge is constantly to figure out where your foot should go next (especially downhill) but I'm not expert and don't have tips.
Above I meant running on flat dirt trails I'm fortunate to have access to :D

I was rolling out my calves on Thursday with The Stick and threw out my back when I stood up. I’ve been doing what I can to loosen it since. Was on the couch and got up around 4pm and it finally felt better.

So I went out and ran 6 miles. Because why not.

The last 2 were a struggle and my right ankle and foot took some pounding. Interested to see how I feel in a few hours and tomorrow AM.

Finally got my new shoes, Brooks Glycerin 18s. Have ran with this model for a while. New shoes always feel great, but if you are a Brooks runner, these were something else. It felt like running in moccasins in my old ones to running on a trampoline. Highly recommend these. New shoes are always great, but if you have ran with these before, the difference in 18s was quite a bit better than the normal new shoe improvement

Ive had 2 pair of Glycerins (11 and 17) and I’m not sure what it is but it makes my 5th metatarsal just ache after a few long runs. Don’t have that issue with Ghosts but the Glycerins make it feel like if I keep going my metatarsal will break.
