the issue with CS was that tournaments always drew huge viewership but individual streamers did not, that's why people like summit/tim moved on he was by far the most popular early streamer of it, moonmoon built his entire career on it and is now one of the biggest variety streamers
Right, but a TON more people already knew who he was and were familiar with him, so when people pick a game they want to watch that he’s playing, he’s a much more likely choice. He also streamed about twice as much as seagull did even once seagull retired.
idk honestly shroud is a weird case as a streamer. I didn’t even watch him that much before he moved and none after, but I feel like he’s just so likable more than he is entertaining in the way most traditional streamers are.
I watched him when he was mEclipse on Twitch and had like 30 followers. He was playing Rust and ESEA CSGO pugs and his aim was just the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. He would get quads and aces and not even react. When started playing and owning ESEA Rank G pubs, he blew up.
I wasn’t saying twitch was censoring him I’m saying it looks like Mixers contract gave him the piece of mind to say fuck it. Now I can go back to just having fun.
I think it's both. I think he now has his brand running on a level that it doesnt matter anymore. Like all the pajamas, toys, posters, shirts, etc that kids got as xmas gifts.
ninja was one of, if not the most, toxic Halo players on the scene and almost universally hated during his time there.
He was playing Valorant with Summit early in the beta and was so toxic. Every time he died it wasn’t his fault.
A lot of non CS FPS guys are really struggling because a game like CS takes a long time to get good at. Peeking, aiming without issuing ADS, movement, etc is all different from COD, PUBG, and EFT.
I just wondered if the guys got one lump sum, or a multi-year contract. I'm sure they had to agree to 3+ years or mixer or something. Shroud is so good at everything he does, but I do agree he's kinda boring personality wise. Ninja is super annoying. He's loud and blames everything on his teammates rather than accepting his faults.
It's just a rehash from earlier days when the big COD guys Nadeshot and Scump started streaming on MLG.tv and got the bag for a few years and saw stream numbers dip and now they are back on twitch making a killing. Ninja and Shroud are making absurd money so I doubt they care about staying in the 5k to 10k viewer range
I really enjoyed it earlier when he was playing with some pretty high level aimers and crackheads. Mendo, aceu, and dizzy are all guys that have Shroud like abilities. They were shredding everyone in the twitch rivals tournament
i like ninja as i think he means well and is a good guy but i do hate the constant excuses and blaming
This is ridic from shroud he is so fast. I mean I’m sure some of it has to do with him playing on max FPS while kids are playing on 60hz tv screens with PlayStation controllers, but still.
Summit has 250,000 viewers right now and 53,000 subs which is 20,000 above the next highest twitch streamer. I'm not sure I'll ever understand how he has such a big following
no idea, i used to chalk it up to him being one of the original twitch streamers but there's something else for him to still be pulling huge numbers
summit is boring as fuck. all the FPS guys are honestly. Doc is the only one with a personality but even that wears thin since it just repeats. summit is boring, Tim is normie central, if it was possible to have less than no personality then shroud would have that, etc. personality streamers are all degenerate variety guys by and large, that's a whole different pool you have to choose to wade into because it's weird out there.
about to find out if twitch will hold their stance on corona conspiracy peddling being bannable now that doc is doing it
That was a cringy start to today's stream. Not the first time he's done it since the pandemic started either
the incel brigades on incidental nudity or "sexual content" are some of the most embarrassing things on the internet
Don't understand the Doc hype..I don't find him entertaining and he isn't very skilled at the games he plays either.
I respect the hell out of his production quality and how innovative his streams are but outside of that there isn't much appeal at all
Spent the first 30 min of his stream watching a video on YouTube where the guy is hosting a lecture saying every major advance in electronics precedes a global pandemic
Anyone see Doc getting shit on lately because of his shungite promotion? They even made a copy pasta of it. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/shungite
Think he's also been getting shit on cause he sucks at Valorant. He had a 100 gifted sub bet with Tim, based on who placed higher in ranked. Tim won. Wonder if Doc ever paid the bet.
There is something weird about people who worship people playing fake people in video games as their job. I would say it’s the strangest though. Most people watch twitch because it’s extremely cheap (free) entertainment where everyone is pretty much like minded in that they love video games and watch their favorite personalities play them.
