I’d whisk her away from an abusive guy, even if it meant starting a war which leads to the invasion and destruction of my home and nearly wiped out my entire civilization
Jungle Book and Aladdin, yes Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast, nah Lion King, oh gosh no keep it away
Think I've seen all of them so far except Aladdin. They all top out at fine. It's just so insulting to see their live action studios do nothing but plumb the depths of nostalgia, when basically every animated original piece of IP they've put out in the last decade (Moana, Wreck it Ralph, Zootopia, Frozen) has had fine as its floor, and has usually been closer to brilliant. They're wasting talented people on the live side
Does Disney have some stellar track record for great live action movies that I'm forgetting? Mighty Ducks? Most Disney live action movies are horrible kids movies and only get by on nostalgia by people who saw them when they were eight but never again, and if they watched them again they'd realize how stupid Blank Check really was.
Jungle book is the best live action remake and I’m routinely pissed that it isn’t on Disney+. Spoiler Bill Murray is underwhelming as Baloo - don’t @me.
Blank Check was the dream this is like going into the Marvel thread and saying Chris Evans is a bad Captain America bigpig
My consistent gripe with the “live action” remakes is the vast majority of the singing is bad enough to where I think that what we got was a “fuck you” from the creative side to the corporate side who forced their hand
