Gonna put together my top 10 at some point, but hot take, Late for Church will be amongst the 10. A great damn song.
Relistened to Be Afraid last night. I like every song he's released so far except for what have i done to help. I'm excited
What have I done to help grew on me. He's on food network today at 11am central I believe. I guess at the end of the show he and shires are debuting another new song
Debut a new song apparently meant debut a verse from a new song. Just watched that full episode just to hear a quarter of a song.
I think today was the day Isbell is early releasing the album to Indie stores. I dont live near one, has anyone gotten a copy yet? Additionally if anyone knows of a way to purchase a digital copy thru one of these stores, please post. Not optimistic thats possible though.
I'm just comparing it to his other albums. It's not bad just dont think it holds up to his other albums which may just be doing it an injustice
Not sure if it’s fair to make an immediate assessment because of how Isbell songs typically grow on you (or jar something loose)
Every time I hear Carl Perkins Cadillac it always reminds me of The Great Divide. I’ve always thought it sounds like Lets Get Out of Here Tonight.
Dreamsicle and Only Children are pretty damn good for the released songs. Overseas is probably my favorite one and I've listened to it bootlegged live a bunch. Plus I heard it live for allegedly the first time last summer.
Was good. Video was a little choppy early but got figured out. Hope he does it again at some point. Ghost to Most Natural Light Gravity's Gone Ramon Casiano Women Without Whiskey '72 (This Highway's Mean) Marry Me Birthday Boy First Air of Autumn Surrender Under Protest Uncle Frank Daddy's Cup
Is everyone just listening too intently to give their opinion or just that meh on it? Second time through was certainly better than the first.
Haven’t had a chance to listen properly because the wife and kid can’t stop making noise. However, I do like it. I’ll go headphones for a deep listen soon.
Well shit, these images are making me regret not buying the dreamsicle colored vinyl. Third listen through and it gets better and better. May also be the Golden Monkeys kicking in but a hell of an album.
