Guy with the .357 in the truck bed used to work for the DA as recently as a year ago, so they moved the case into the next county. Then they had to move it again because the new DA's son ALSO works for the original DA's office. These guys can't even get the fucking ball rolling because of the good 'ole boy system.

If you instigate the situation, you shouldn't be able to claim self defense. If a group surrounds you with guns, it's not unreasonable to try to defend yourself. Apparently it's ok to intimidate someone to the point they try to defend themselves and then you can kill them. Stand Your Ground is a license to kill someone.
Just so I have this story straight -- two men claim there were a string of robberies in the area. One man sees a black man jogging thru the neighborhood. He gets his family member, and they load up shotguns. They follow this man around for quite a while trying to get him to stop jogging down the road. The man confronts these two individuals who have continued to follow him, and they use that as justification to shoot the guy. They see a guy, who they have no idea if he committed a crime, do not call police, instead load their own guns, confront him with loaded guns, stalk and harass him -- but it's not their fault they shot the guy. This country just keeps finding a way to disappoint me more and more.

The shooter’s father, former District Attorney investigator Greg McMichael, who was with his son at the time, called 911 at 1:08 p.m. McMichael: “I’m out here at Satilla Shores and there’s a black man running down the street." 911 dispatcher: “I just need to know what he was doing wrong, was he just on the premises and not supposed to be?” McMichael: “And he’s been caught on the camera a bunch before at night. It’s an ongoing thing out here.”
That video leaking is the worst thing to happen to them. Imagine being a nice, reasonable law graduate that took a job as a Prosecutor in one of these counties and now it is clear everything you stood for by working there is out of the window. Either charge them, quit the office, or do neither and lose all credibility. Spoiler: they don’t give a shit

It would appear that they shot at him before he tried to fight the guy off. Claiming self defense is laughable.
