I know the captaincy thing is a big overhyped in hockey but Keith Primeau was one of my favorites. will always love him at the end with Sami Kapanen while everyone else is celebrating.
Can’t be much worse than their current back end I guess. They have good defensive centers between Tavares and Matthews and they still give up tons of breaks.
The Athletic polled the players about their thoughts on returning this season. The consensus was to return for some regular season games. The next group was for going right to the playoffs and in last was canceling the season. I appreciated this answer the most though: “I don’t want to play playoffs without fans. When you win a Cup, the best part is sharing it with all the people you want there,” said an Eastern Conference player. “If I can’t share it with my family or people I want there, it’s not the same. If we can’t have a parade because of rules or whatever, it’s not the same. Would we even get the Cup for a day? Do people think of those things when making the decision? They should. Part of winning it is all of that.” Probably the most honest reply they got, besides: One Eastern Conference player perhaps summed up the true sentiments of all players: “I’d skip every regular season if we were given a playoff spot.”
Just figure out the draft for fucks sake. Stop dragging it out and make a decision. You won’t be keeping everyone happy so stop delaying it.
I'm hoping he goes to play in the AHL or something so I can just sit behind his bench and yell mean things at him. I really enjoy doing that
Who’s the guy going for clout releasing this screenshot? Obviously Leipsic is kinda fucked in the head but what’s the point in this
Mavericks games in KC are pretty fun and have cheap tickets and cheap good beer. The games are pretty entertaining too. There’s more defensive lapses so the games can really be up and down.
The last ECHL game I went to I was on a first date that wasn't going well, there were maybe 40 people in the stands and my date ran away "to get water" when kiss cam came on. Final score was like 7-4 iirc.
I feel bad for tanner Pearson’s wife, I typed in tanner and tanner Pearson wife was one the of top drop downs
Just give wings #1 pick already. We've gotten screwed enough in the past lotteries we were in and are historically bad, just do it.
i think mtl should get it, the draft was supposed to be in mtl. That city is in ruins right now, first overall pick is French Canadian...seems obvious.
To be honest I really like byfield and stutzle too. Obviously Lafreniere is best prospect of the 3, but the way the lottery has gone for the wings I've accepted long ago we won't win the lottery so I'm just hoping not to fall to 4
I just prefer someone else get a crack at #1. Watching the Devils and Oilers kill these 1OA players isn’t good for the league.
I'm just trying to reinstall some pride in "Hockeytown." If people would rather talk about losing, tanking, seat color changes and shitty pizza chains that's on them. Sad to see from the Winged Wheel.
Think the Wings thread is easily the most active on this board, and we talk about hockey...just not much to talk about other than "which players can we dump" and how bad Howard and Abdelkader are haha.
the one thing I will say negative about lafreniere is that he is older than the other guys, he could turn out as a better Nolan Patrick and one of the other guy with a ton of upside might turn out into Elias pettersson. I would pick him first overall without hesitation because he doesn’t have the injury issues and is a better prospect than Patrick but I would not be shocked if a guy like stutzle or drysdale or even Rossi ends up being better or looking better in depending on where they all end up
I'm really high on Stutzle to the point if Wings pick 2 I think I'd prefer him or Byfield. And that has nothing to do with my opinion of Byfield
Would be great draft to do it in. Think Lafreniere, Byfield and Stutzle all have elite potential. Getting two of them would definitely kick start things in Ottawa
Sounds like NHL really wants to get some content out and get to the lottery and draft but none of the owners are on board with it. Even Yzerman, who is one of two GM's who would probably benefit most from it is on record saying the plan doesnt make much sense
Re-Starting with a 24 team playoff is gaining steam. makes all the sense in the world. No reason the the redwings to start back up
Let's do it with a 6 team lottery...also wonder if this makes Abdelkader the highest paid forward to go through a season without a goal who wasn't injured
They have to do the draft by the end of June. Contract situations at all levels ( pro and previously drafted ) need to be finalized within an organization as well front office staff. In theory you could extend contracts for two months, but that creates complications as new deals start July 1...when real money has to be paid out. Will the PA agree to that?
