https://beta.playvalorant.com/en-us/news/ Riot Games’ new tactical shooter, Valorant, is finally available for players, but not everyone can get access to the closed beta. For now, the beta is only available as a Twitch drop, which means you can get it by watching streams on Twitch. To get access to the Valorant closed beta, you’ll need a Riot Games account and a Twitch account. Once you have both, you will need to connect the two accounts on Twitch’s website. Then all you have to do is tune into a Twitch stream. Riot’s Valorant mashes up Rainbow Six with CS:GO for a speedy new tactical shooter[/paste:font] Only select streamers are eligible to give out drops, which you can find by looking for the tag under the stream that says “Drops Enabled.” All drops are random and watching multiple streams at the same time won’t help your chances of getting access. Once you actually get a drop, it will appear in your Twitch notifications and your account will automatically have access. For now, Riot is keeping access to Valorant fairly small, but it hasn’t said exactly how many players will get in. Riot has said that it will be inviting more players over the next several days, and if the beta stays open for a while, more players are sure to get a chance to play the game. Right now, some 1.6 million people are watching Twitch streams of Valorant, likely hoping they’ll get in too.
It’s really fun. Gunplay and hit reg is best in a game I’ve played since CS 1.5/1.6. Movement is good too. It’s going to take a while to get used to all the skills, but as long as they continue to balance the game, it will be fine. The 128 tick servers are buttery smooth and clean for hit reg. Only played a couple of matches, but coming from CS, the transition is seamless on aiming and movement.
I couldn't have played a worse round of games there. Felt like it was my first time using a mouse Boom TittyMilk
I’ve played Breach, Brimstone, and Sova. I like them in that order. Breach is awesome for initiation with his flashes and stuns. That sweet ace I had came from Breach’s full arsenal. He’s a lot of fun. He’s really good for map control too in early rounds when trying to get info on the opposition. Brimstone is awesome for entry and post plant with his smokes, molly grenade and ultimate. I’ve got to do a better job saving the smokes though and to use his stim beacon better. Sova just doesn’t suite my playstyle. I find myself out of position with a bow out trying to get info. I see him as a great support player on someone with that mindset. Not for me.
my riot account is linked to my twitch account. do i have to be logged into the riot account simultaneously? this is getting ridiculous
this is from riot's beta announcement page or whatever We’re aware of all the viewbotting going on, and do want to reassure you that both us, and Twitch have filters in place to distinguish bots vs. people. so maybe me having it on in the background is pointless
Im sure there is way to determine twitch activity/riot games activity and what is a bot and not. I got mine on accident, was watching a league of legends stream and they hosted riot games who were streaming valorant and i got a drop.
If you haven’t played a tactical shooter like CS, the learning curve is steep. It’s about peeking, movement, pace, and of course aim/spray control.
finally got my key and played my first game. i can already tell i'm going to hate people who suck with the curveball flashbang guy
Silver II. I solo queued for all placement games and went 2-3 but too fragged in all the losses. Placed in Bronze 1. Won 5 straight and now I’m Silver II. Some of those bronze matches were rough. It’s like the trench in Dota.
Very nice, was out of town all last weekend and have played less than 5 games since hitting gold 2. GF is out of town for the weekend and I've gotta work tomorrow, so I'm sitting down for a very well deserved gaming session. Hoping to be atleast gold 3 tonight.
