Not really sure that this is the right thread for it but saw Barham talking, on his Instagram cover of a gaslight anthem song, about the lead singer (Brian Fallon) of that group releasing his favorite album of the year so far. Listening to it now and really like it so far.
I've always really liked Fallon's vocals with Gaslight Anthem. His voice is great for this type of song.
Here's Trig at his best, ethering Sam Hunt. https://www.savingcountrymusic.com/...n7IgXZsVDgguer1kMBWU-Mvd-tMXRdHCXSzOLypQu_FqE
just got around to listening to this. great as always. its a shame it only has ~500 views in 2 weeks. guy should be wayyyy more prominent
Texas Gentleman announced their second album and released the first single. For those not familiar they’re a prominent studio/backing band (used by George strait, Kris Kristofferson, Leon Bridges) that put out their own album back in 2017 that was really good. Looking forward to this one
I listened to this album today. I really like these tracks: 1. Six Years Come November (a top 5-10 AA track for me) 2. Starts with You 3. How Wicked I Was Will probably grow on me with more listens.
Still want to listen to it a little and see how I feel about it in the long run, but I definitely really like the American Aquarium album. Said it earlier, but I'm a big fan of the type of songs they're making these days. Also, if anybody likes Jaime Wyatt, check out her singles she released. Pretty good stuff and an album I'll be checking out when it comes out.
Have to think if Evan gets his shit together then he’d come back as a solo artist. TT I’d assume is over
I am intrigued and aroused. But God damn if I still don't want to see Evan come back to that band someday.
I dunno. I think that makes sense, but on the other hand, there's a shit ton of money to be made on a Turnpike "reunion/comeback" tour. That usually trumps most everything else.
Kyle sang a couple of songs last time they were in ATX/Moody. Kyle is a good live act, but Evan needs to get his fucking shit together. ETA: that new song sounds like it was written by/for Evan.
I'm going to try my hardest not to compare Kyle's voice and songwriting to Evan because it's not really fair. Just going to enjoy what should be some catchy tunes and elite musicianship behind him.
