I mean, they had some good/great actors in there. There’s only so much they can do with what they were given
i was almost exclusively talking about christensen tbh rewatching them the other day, i cringed a few times
The fact that the good actors can’t do anything with the shit George gave them makes me cut him some slack
Off the top of my head: Neeson, McGregor, Lee were very good I think Sam Jackson just wanted to be a Jedi and to get a lightsaber, and didn’t give much of a fuck about actually acting
Portman is AWFUL in the prequels. Not saying she was given a great hand to start with but she did not turn in a good performance.
In retrospect, given what the prequels revealed about George’s flaws it’s amazing how relatively well casted and performed Luke, Leia and Han were in ANH
All the criticisms aside, I will always love George to the world he created and because from virtually all accounts he’s a very good dude
Was his spirit not put into a clone body? Think I read that in the novelization but can't recall off the top of my head. Not understanding the zombie part.
I don't think it was explained in the movie. Just grabbed my copy of the novelization and looked. It is explained there. But that's part of the problem with the movie as we shouldn't need a novelization to further flesh it out.
One of those movies that gets better the more you watch it. Not more times, but I mean every scene is better than the one before. By the time the final few minutes hit, you forget how "just okay" the first half is.
I thought for sure Vader was eventually going to appear on the beach and didn’t think they had the guts to cut it that close to ANH
Kotor youtube movie complete. Started the sith lords movie, but it is 6 hours long. Worth it? I do want more insight into Nihilus. Seems like this would satisfy that itch.
Reposting my rankings since we started doing that again: 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. A New Hope 3. The Force Awakens 4. Rogue One 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. Return of the Jedi 7. The Last Jedi 8. The Rise of Skywalker 9. The Phantom Menace 10. Solo 11. Attack of the Clones
Your opinion on this one can’t be taken seriously with how much you hate TLJ. It would be like me or dtx giving our opinion on someone having TROS in their top tier
“the son saves the father, the father saves the son...that’s the story of Star Wars...phantom menace up through a return of the Jedi” this is why the sequels feels so tacked on. It’s just such a tangential coda. Filoni clearly doesn’t even really think of them as part of the story. He would have bent over backwards to connect them better if he were more involved throughout.
We need to have as many people do their rankings of all 11 films - we average the rankings and post a thread consensus.
1. ESB 2. Star Wars (refuse to call it anything else) 3. Rogue One 4. RotJ 5. RotS After this it becomes which ones I hate the least unfortunately. 6. TFA 7. TLJ 8. TPM 9-11. AotC, Solo, TRoS (I hate all of these equally.
I like the political intrigue of the prequels as a concept but those movies just feel so half-assed I swear they are elaborate marketing ploys for Industrial Light and Magic
Really, they are so close to being something special. Lucas needed someone to tell him no and to show him how to edit a film.
Liam Neeson, Ewan McGreggor are good actors. Natalie Portman is an oscar winner. Sam Jackson has given much better performances. It's not the actors.
True. Dialogue is not a strong point for Lucas. Lucas is an incredible idea man but a sub par writer and director.
