Yep, could be a lot of Also, this was brought up on the Michigan board, but there could be a huge headache as far as transfers if some schools play when others don’t. Schools that go the cautious route could have their rosters devastated for years to come due to their players transferring to schools that are in “fuck it” mode.
Eh. I think the California players would mainly just be not playing football. I'd expect the schools that plan on playing football to be tip-toeing all the way to a start date. I don't think they would be cutting scholarship players to add transfers. Who knows tho...whole situation is imaginary land... definitely a possibility.
I think there are plenty that realize they aren't playing in the NFL and would be OK just staying on scholarship and going to school at UCLA/looking forward to the next year, instead of trying to transfer to who knows where when there is no guarantee that school will end up playing football either.
what would the resumption of the NBA have to do with the start of the MLB or NFL? Not remotely the same set of circumstances.
I know Coastal Carolina is on edge of seat waiting on all this to be sorted out, their game with South Carolina is a 1.4 million dollar payday. A lot of non-P5 ADs are sweating right now trying to keep head above water.
that’s a pretty blanket statement to make though. sure there are going to be kids like that, but there are a lot of nfl prospects on rosters in california
idk what you're asking, you said you want Lebron to talk to big stars in other sports. What would they talk about, the situations aren't similar.
Enough to "devastate a program for years" tho? That was my point...there isn't going to be some mass exodus of like 30 players a team between now and September.
they’d probably talk about this little covid pandemic thing going around that has put a halt to sports. i don’t know if you’ve heard of it
The article says Silver can't guarantee player safety but that the league is willing to move forward with resuming the season if the players sign on. There is a set of star NBA players, in playoff contention, that want to resume the season and assume the risks. Other players want to skip straight ahead to playoffs to limit the # of players assuming that risk....another group is just concerned with how everything impacts the next CBA. Its not some ra ra lets get back to normalcy; its *when given a green light* this is how we want to proceed. They want to crown an NBA champ with as small of an asterisk as possible. Not a lot of relation to what Mike Trout or Aaron Rodgers or Sidney Crosby face.
lol dude, they’re agreeing to get back to playing. doesn’t matter how, they want to play. of course them deciding how that looks has nothing to do with major league baseball, but that’s not the point. don’t be dense
i don’t even know what that means either way, i hope you’re enjoying that dildo you love to sit on so much
I still dont know what was said within that article you want Lebron to tell other sports stars. All I was asking, but forget it.
NBA should do strait to the playoffs top 4 from east and west. They could play them all in the same venue if needed
That’s why I think when all is said and done most conferences will have teams play from 6-8 conference opponents and can add 2 more games from : traditional rival in another conference, G5, FCS, and independent. Just depends on how many games they cap it at.
i think they'll try full playoff from where standings ended do think the Vegas/Disney venue makes the most sense. can play every other day. limits staff requirements. limits need for outside people coming in as those places would likely be able to make food on site, etc.
when i look to people for their opinions on what salaries are fair, i immediately pull up *checks notes* rodger (seriously? rodger?) sherman
Are you assuming that any player at a California school in this scenario would be able to transfer and play immediately without penalty? That’s a pretty big assumption.
At this point Im just assuming no sports. If they do try to start up, I anticipate they shut down after a few players test positive. What a shitty year this is gonna be.
