By waiting until the end of the season to actually show his face, the viewer should be invested in the character enough to see him as Mando
Something really bad happened to that culture after the Clone Wars. We haven’t seen it yet, but their numbers were drastically culled...presumably at Sidious’ direction. They seem to have adopted “The Way” as a result and part of that is not taking the helmet off.

Wouldn't be surprised if the purge is right after ANH/the end of Rebels since theEmpire suffered a major loss and Mandalore got rid of their Imperial overseer. Imps laid the smack down quick before the Mandalorians could form the core of the Rebellion
I am upset by all the Solo hate in here. It was a fun romp, well-acted, and enjoyable. It didn’t ruin any other movies or create untenable plot points (looking at you, midichlorians and force dyads) Solo was better than any of the prequels and probably all of the sequels except TLJ and I’m tired of pretending it wasn’t.
