I always knew this was an open world game but I was still excited... as soon as that featurette leaned into the open world stuff I immediately became turned off. I really hope the combat is outstanding
I just got PS now, what games should I play first? I like RPG and open world games the best. I played GoW back on PS3, but haven't played it since. Is it more open world now?
I guess I don't get this. What are you guys expecting to see to set it apart? Every open world game shares a ton of elements. The main things they do to set themselves apart are the setting and story.
Just expected more based on how long we had to wait for gameplay I think the game will still be good but my expectations are tempered
Exactly, how many games are actually groundbreaking? Most of my favorite games didn't do anything groundbreaking. They just told an incredible story in an interesting world. Based on what I've seen of Ghosts it has the interesting world down. It looks incredible.
When the main storyline ended, I was like "wait...that's it?!?!" It was an amazing game and I love it, but I was disappointed at how abrupt that ending was. I should have realized that setting up Thor and Odin and all that other stuff wasn't going to be for this game, but it just didn't occur to me until after I finished it.
I thought it was perfect length it felt longer than my playtime indicator showed, but in a good way because of how intense it was
Guys, they tell you what the ending will be fairly early on. I fail to see how the climax could’ve left you confused as to how that was the ending.
not because i didnt like it but because i was clearly missing some obvious combat mechanic therefore i constantly died
I thought the length was fine. My issue was more that I was expecting a very climactic battle with Thor or something to give you a taste of the story for the next game. I will say that I was very happy to get the cinematic when you go back to the house at the end.
seriously it was like the third encounter. just the basic ass dudes. suddenly theres like 4 of them and they cant be stunned and i die in 2 hits.
Also, yes I will play Tsushima with Japanese dialogue with English subtitles and will be turning on black and white cinematic mode for proper samurai duels this is the way
I just love GOW. Didn’t expect to love it either because I wasn’t a fan of the originals at all. I’d suck that games dick
I've been debating on subtitles or not. I think that's the route I will go as well. Will maybe do the black and white on a second playthrough but I'm not depriving myself of those vibrant colors on the initial playthrough.
like any other game i play im going to use english voices. its not 1997, i dont want to sit there and read a novel while playing a video game.
I mostly enjoyed the previous GoW games but most recent one is a transformative reimagining of the character and franchise
The 2nd and 3rd are far, far, far, better. God of War 3's boss fights are amazing. Any game that features this gets a thumbs up from me. Rip off Helios's head and then use it as a fucking lantern the rest of the game.
Japanese dialogue with English subs is absolutely the way to go on the first playthrough. If I do a second playthrough, I’ll probably do samurai cinema mode with English dubs.
Yeah after getting used to the annoyances of the little things missing (like a mission log and it being able to change active mission), I've enjoyed it a lot. Still playing and taking my time with exploring. Think I'm a little more than half done. Still like far cry 5 the most, but I think I like 3 over 4.
Have you played Spider-Man? It's amazing open world with RPG elements. Probably my favorite in the last couple years. Sounds like you've played far cry. I'd also recommend Days Gone. I'd watch some YouTube of it before buying though as I've heard not everyone liked it. I thought it was really well done though.
Yup, the beginning of the game is probably the hardest part especially that fucking pit with all the archers and enemies.
I played FFVII remake with Japanese dialogue with English subtitles first playthrough and now on hard mode I'm playing it with the English voices.
ok serious question, the fuck do you think youre getting out of it by listening to a language you dont speak
No joke the first 2-3 hours of GMGoW difficulty are the hardest part of the game mode. Game actually gets progressively easier once you get your first weapon level up/upgrade
Some people think language they don't understand "sounds cooler", its the reason why so much Japanese culture is filled with random English words.
