You gringos know you have to double up your corn ‘tillas right? Also, hold them to a flame for a bit to get a nice toasty flavor as well.
Omar Manning update Spoiler It has been quiet around Nebraska wide receivers signee Omar Manning this spring, but things are trending well for Manning to make it to Lincoln on time this summer. Kilgore CC assistant coach Keith Browning told Husker247 this week that things look good for Manning and the Huskers. “Right now he’s doing really well. He’s going to pass the class he’s in here at Kilgore. He’s already started a couple others. If he gets those done with no hiccups, he’ll be finished at the end of May and that was the plan all along. If there is some kind of hiccup, then we can have June to correct anything that goes wrong. Fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong and we get everything completed in May. We do have a little buffer for June because schools aren’t letting anybody show up until July, anyways.” Manning has been working remotely and working out at home since the second week of March because of Covid-19. The Kilgore staff has been keeping tabs on its players and making sure assignments and classes are getting completed. Browning said Nebraska’s coaching staff has kept very close tabs on Manning’s progress since the wide receiver signed with the Big Red in December. “You’d think Ryan Held is part of our coaching staff,” Browning joked. “He’s one of my good friends. I’ve known Coach Held for years and years. He does a great job and stays on top of it. He was Omar’s primary recruiter and trust me, I’m sure the bossman over there is having regular contact with him too. Coach Held is checking in multiple times per week. They’re doing a great job of keeping track and Omar is doing a great job of holding up his end, too.” Getting Manning to campus this summer would be a huge boost for Nebraska’s wide receiver corps. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder brings a different element to the Husker offense. The former four-star wide receiver began his career at TCU before bouncing back to Kilgore. Last fall, Manning caught 35 passes for 727 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2019, while averaging nearly 21 yards per catch. “Omar I’m excited about,” Nebraska head coach Scott Frost said in December. “All year we kind of wished we were a little more productive at our outside receiver spot. That’s one place where we thought we wanted a kind of guy that could come in and potentially help us right away. There wasn’t a better guy in the country, in my opinion, for what we were looking for than him. He looks different than anybody I’ve ever coached and has tape to match. I’m really excited to get him. He’s got a little work to do yet before he gets to campus, but I think he has a chance to change our offense.”
The 94 championship is on. 1) The.Barron.of.Miles was incredible this game 2) its amazing seeing the level of bantyness and types of hits everyone could get away with
I’ve got an important question about a ruling in the 95 Orange Bowl game that’s been bugging me for a couple decades. Early in the 4th, the ball is snapped over the punter’s head and he kicks it out of the end zone. Why was it Nebraska’s ball after the penalty instead of a safety?
It was an illegal kicking penalty which we accepted and moved half the distance closer to the goal, IIRC. I'm not 100% sure they got it right but those were the days when a call was made and people just went with it instead of conferring with the booth and some dicks from the league office every time the whistle was blown....
This. Illegal kicking. I remember the announcers saying how it was a better call for us because it would be an easy touchdown. Those sweet summer children...
Good stuff, thanks guys. I forgot at one point our team was good enough to be guaranteed a touchdown when they were in the red zone. I assumed they would decline that penalty and take the safety. This is why Dr. Thom is a doctor and I’m just Tommy.
The good voters of Nebraska are going to make him the Nation's first 30 term senator. Doesn't matter how much bullshit you espouse, so long as there's a quick allusion to Jesus and poverty being poor people's fault somewhere in the mix.
I'm honestly convinced that polotics attracts nothing but the bottom of the barrel members of our society.
This is true. It explains why NCHusker88 can't go 2 secs without sharing his opinion on something with it.
That was a nod to the good old days of RSS Circa ~2007 where polotocs threads pretty much all devolved into “common sense” talk and people coming out of the wood work to say They don’t trust politicians not even republicans, because they are too damn liberal!
You have a weird obsession with him. Norfolk Catholic beat Randolph in 7th grade club basketball or something?
Miles had 7 blocked punts in college and 13 in the CFL. Unbelievable. Probably the best ever at doing that.
No, it's strictly politically driven. I just get a kick out of people that act like they have all the answers. Either side of the aisle, doesn't matter. I find it enjoyable to poke that bear so to speak. I don't have anything against Norfolk Catholic...quite the opposite actually. As NC knows, my mom taught there for decades. Just retired a couple yrs ago.
....and ftr, we never did play Norfolk Catholic growing up for some reason. If we did, we would have beaten them. Their best player in my grade was Mark Brungardt (a couple yrs older than NC) and he was a good athlete, they just didn't have a good bball team.
Would have to be a 93-97 doc. If you think about it, there is enough starpower spanning those years to make it interesting. Charlie Ward, Bobby Bowden, Ray Lewis, Sapp, The Rock, Peyton Manning, Spurrier...plenty of big names involved in that era. Maybe throw in a Warren Buffet, Rush Limbaugh, Clarence Thomas, and Chuck Liddell. Better do it soon if they want to because a lot of those names are not going to be with us for very much longer.
Once I get rich shorting the stock market, I will make this. Unfortunately (for you guys), the market is up 3% today
I’m sure this could be something cool to watch, but holy shit I hope we start winning soon so we can stop talking about how good our fanbase is and acting like the sellout streak matters.
