They made academy award winning actors look terrible, so no.

 

The problems the prequels have were not because of Hayden, he was just a symptom of the real problem

Help me with the timeline here. When Obi Wan visits Yoda at the temple in AotC one of the younglings is a female Togruta. Is that Ahsoka or would she have been older than that then?

 

Filoni had an interview somewhat recently where he mentioned that they toyed with the idea of retconning Ahsoka as that youngling but they couldnt rectify the time line to make it the same character.

 

The kid is here this week cause the Mrs isn’t working till after Memorial Day so he came back from grandmas house. He’s never been subjected to the prequels but I pulled the trigger. An hour into AotCs I desperately went back to my rankings to make sure I put it last. So painful.

The only version of the prequels I’ll watch are the auralnaut ones on YouTube. Better in every way

Did Hayden suck? Yes
Were there a lot of other things that make the prequels bad movies even without him? A resounding yes.

Leo couldn’t have saved this unless he told George it was shit. Which actually, maybe he did. Maybe he was like, “nah this sucks; write this better and I’ll do it” and George was all “I’m good”

What, do you mean late 90’s/early 2000’s cgi doesn’t age well? They’re only going to look worse the further out they get

 

Dialogue and acting can both age well.

 

I always point to three reasons why the prequels are viewed as mediocre at best:

1. Hayden Christensen's acting
2. The overall writing
3. Overuse of CGI

 

What's crazy is Jurassic Park used cgi in '93 that looks far better than the prequels.

Flat, lazy directing can't be understated.

Lucas was over a barrel, I know. He didnt want to direct any of them but couldn't get the guys he wanted in the chair. Spielberg said no, Howard said no, etc.

That said, he should have given his stories to better screenwriters at least.

 

The Ewoks culture would revolve around eating shrooms and Luke would have realized how to restore balance to the force while tripping his balls off.

I think people are forgetting how awful Jake Lloyd’s acting was.

 

I feel bad for him because he was just a kid and people seem to still hate him and he got harassed for a long time

 

Feel bad for him for having parents that convinced him he could act.
