It seemed obvious, but it’s based on a Bit of truth. That used to the the Disney policy when it came to Disney channel shows. 63 episodes and done. No matter how popular the show was.
It was today that I learned that Filoni worked on some Avatar: The Last Airbender eps. Seems fitting.
King of the Hill he mentioned working on Airbender at Nickelodeon when he was offered TCW and thinking it was the Spongebob guys pranking him though.
At TLJ on my rewatch. I love this movie. I know it’s a divisive movie and there are parts I don’t like but overall I love it. The throne room scene is the best thing this new trilogy gave us and the best fight scene in the all the movies. Followed up by that incredible light speed kamizake scene
Best fight scene in all the movies or just the sequel trilogy? I personally can't get over how bad the fight choreography was. It has a cool aesthetic but the fight itself was kind of potato.
I try to convince myself that TLJ is a really good movie, but I always hit the same roadblocks that make me think otherwise: 1. The OJ bronco space chase 2. We got Rose’s background, but still knew little about Poe and Finn 3. Holdo seemed like a wasted character 4. Leia Poppins scene It’s a good movie, but I can’t put in the top tier of SW.
I said in all of the movies. They’ve come so far since the OT that going and watching the Vader/Obi wan its so clunky. The prequels was way too much cgi and Anakin looks like he’s trying out for flag team with how much he just spins the saber around without doing any sort of fighting
I don't get this comment. Rey lightsaber drop, kill, throw to Kylo, light up for a half second kill. C'mon. That was some sexy shit right there.
There are some YouTube videos that break it down far better than I can but the choreography is not good. I also never liked how they treated lightsabers in the new films. They treat them like they are claymores that weigh 25 pounds when they should be feather light.
Yoda telling Luke about the force and then lifting the X-Wing is still beautiful. John Williams' music and Frank Oz' acting sell it.
Giving Rise of Skywalker another shot. Not off to a great start with the vats of snokes and hundreds of star destroyers
SIAP but have we discussed the fan cut where someone spliced in the Siege of Mandalore scenes into ROTS?
Watched it all the way through. Still hate it; it’s just so bad. I didn’t want to overload the thread with complaints though so tried to only post a few things
It's insulting. I have long-defended JJ Abrams, but that just showed that he was the hack everyone said he was. He copied the basest levels of the Indy scavenger hunt plot and left behind all the things that made it work.
He's good at casting and introductory chapters. After characters are established it's time to take the keys away from him.
JJ has to be the most overrated director in Hollywood. What has he done that was actually good? I'm drawing a blank.
