    Just booked kiawah late June-
Fri: 8:30 cougar point 2 turtle point
Sat: 9:00 ocean course 3:20 oak point
    sun: 9:00 osprey point

Have played a lot on HHI but never played in Charleston. Looking forward to (at least one) triple digit round in there. 8 of us going 4v4 over the weekend me and one other turning thirty. Could miss a tee time but should be a good time

That late round at oak will be enjoyable after the bludgeoning the ocean course puts on you. It's probably the most laid back of them all. Worst part is it's going to be tight if you want a bite and drink at the Ryder cup bar before heading over.

I had my first night of golf league for the season...we have four man teams and the games change weekly. This week was 2 v 2 Best Ball match play. We come to the last and I drill a 15 foot putt for par. The other team has a 12 footer for birdie to win the match. He runs the putt by at least 4 feet...my teammate who had played maybe the worst 9 holes of his life “That’s good. Nice match.”

I could have killed my teammate. That 4 foot putt broke at least 3 inches and the guy was a terrible putter.

Cost us a chance for the win in the match and the team win overall. I’m all for giving putts but they made us putt 2.5-3 footers all night.

I do think that mixed events would be great, but they were clearly chasing as much money as possible.

Presidents cup should expand to be a mixed event instead of being Ryder Cup Jr.

Last year being the exception, which was also largely due to Royal Melbourne, the President’s Cup is a much worse version of the Ryder Cup and just flat non-competitive. Changing it up to a different type of team competition would be more interesting than watching the US roll the International team every time, again with the exception of last year

Just have 10 men 10 women and you still get everything you got last year. Only it's more competitive and is more than just a lesser version of the Ryder Cup. Give this another thought when the event isn't at the best course in the world and comes back to Quail Hallow.

The men's/womens stroke play event down in Australia this year was amazing viewing and I hardly knew a single player.

I think you are glossing over a lot from last year including Tiger and a pretty damn good group of international guys.

Part of the appeal to me is the time of year. Having a big portion of the best players in the world together in December is fun for me.

Basically I'm saying why does some new event have to replace a current one?

I feel like the “driver-wedge” argument is too simplistic. People use it assuming that scores are lower if it’s true. Seminole showed this weekend that it’s very tough to score on even with a wedge in hand on most holes.

Overall scores is the better argument, imo.

I’m not glossing over last year, it was highly enjoyable, but it’s also very much the exception. To the last part, it would have to replace it because the schedule is already a little full to entice the top players to play these “exhibition” events

Seminole was Driver/Wedge and the #1 player in the world didn't break 70. The #5 player shot like 76 without putting everything out.

Going for an iron fitting tonight, first time I've ever done it but after 15 years I'm ready to replace my Callaway's. I'm curious to see if what I think I want is anywhere close to what the pro says I need

I just keep my scores on a phone app which has my handicap at 36 somehow. My last 5 rounds have been: 88, 87, 93, 92 and 84. I generally play the tips or 2nd from the tips depending on yardage so it's about 6,500 on avg.

I really like the Mizuno JPX919s, hoping they are a good fit

I know it's not exactly your avg score minus 72 but I assume I'm somewhere in the 16-20 range since I break 90 about half the time. I used to break 85 that often so I'm trying to get back in that range and occasionally drop a 79

I generally don't but there's some courses around here where the 2nd from the back is ~6,200 and in my usual 4some I'm the worst player so it's easier to just hit from the same tee.

I've got a ton from the last few years but I probably fucked up somewhere and have myself down for an 88 on 9 holes or something similar. The point is that I'll be a scratch golfer once I get new irons for sure

Fitting was awesome, really enjoyed the experience. I hit the Mizuno Hot Metal pro, Titleist T300, Callaway Mavrik, ping 710 and 410 and the Taylormade Sim. Ended up down to Mavrik and Sim but the Taylormade won out. Every 7 iron out of my last 10 shots was +/- 3 yards in carry from 165 with a small fade and the horizontal dispersion was great. When I moved from a fade to a draw it start getting out in the 180 range with roll out which was a little concerning but otherwise i loved them. I hadn't even considered them going in but they were awesome. I also learned Ping irons are just not for me and my 7 iron swing is 87-90mph pretty consistently.

Bobby Jones golf course here in Atlanta. They have an indoor instruction and club fitting building next to the range so you hit from inside out onto the grass with a trackman. It's an awesome facility
