Saw this one coming 2 months ago. I’m surprised he lasted this long. The CDC clearly fucked up aspects of the nations testing response. They are also scientists who disagree with trump so it’s easy to say everything is there fault. It will then discredit the CDC scientists who say trump is wrong later on as fake news people that are anti trump. He’s trying to run the same campaign he did 4 years ago. Biden isn’t as unlikeable as Hillary and trump actually has a record of policies and actions that people will use in their evaluation of him as a candidate. Even with Hillary almost completely failing to even campaign in the Midwest, he barely won some of those key states.
I’m so old I remember when a federal agency fucking something up was considered the president’s fault
I believe that there are a number of Donald trump tweets from when Obama was president making this exact same point. There are 2 reasons that branches of our government are so dysfunctional right now. People don’t want to work for trump and people who are willing to but won’t take some tyrannical loyalty test are fired.
gotta love how the region where CFB is most popular is far and away the least willing to implement measures to ensure we actually have a CFB season
Thanks, we're pretty happy for him. I think he felt that if you get accepted into a UC engineering program, you don't say "hey thanks, but I'm going to community college instead", even if it means distance learning at the start. We're ten miles away from the campus, so he can get over there pretty easily if they open up classes. Can't see dorm living any time soon, tho
it really should be the Govenors and School's Presidents main contribution. If you want Football stay home
You believe the part in regards to being out of the water? Or that people will actually social distance appropriately?
fucking imagine listening to this interview after you've heard some dumbfuck GOP lackey spew nonsense lies and obfuscate. fucking stunning the contrast.
I believe Whammy was mentioning the lack of information regarding testing in Atlanta and I’m seeing that here in SW Florida as well. Just came across this on the hospitals website and haven’t seen it reported on in the local newspaper. COLLIER COUNTY OFFERING MASS TESTING The Department of Health in Collier County will be conducting four additional mass testing days. These will be walk-up tests with the national guard and are open to all – no appointment or physician’s order is required. Those DOH testing days will take place: May 19th, and 20th at North Collier Regional Park on Livingston Rd. just south of Immokalee Rd. May 22nd and 23rd at the South Regional Library, just south of Rattlesnake Hammock on 951.
Individuals should be responsible for their own ventilators. We can't live in a nanny state. I did well in stonks and own my own personal hospital
Birx is more evil than wacked imo. She lied for 2 months about testing, basically filibustering task force pressers. Redfield seems like a simpleton.
Conspiracy theorist in me says it's part of the "We have plenty of tests, no one wants them," narrative he's mentioned in the last couple press conferences. If no one knows, makes it seem like we have excess capacity
The no one wants them part is because Trump spent the last 3 months telling everyone the virus is no big deal and testing was turned into a political issue
Not surprised Alabama has the same construction working conditions as Qatar building the FIFA stadiums
My new favorite thing is a couple going to a store with one wearing a mask and the other not wearing one.
MUH GUVNR is absolutely killing it Forget Cuomo as a potential future presidential candidate; this guy is showing what real leadership looks like
Yep. The first failed CDC test was a convenient blunder for Trump, who never wanted to count cases anyway. His constant downplaying of testing means we'll never get to 900k test per day (or whatever the min. is) needed to test/trace/track/treat.
I completely agree that this is ridiculous. We can’t open a bar but we can pack a plane? I think we should be more closed than we are but even if I am deemed by leaders as being too conservative, we need to be consistent. If an airplane can be full, there is no reason any other business should be restricted. How many businesses are less safe than a full airplane?
yeah during the quarantine we been driving to Aptos and taking walks around Cabrillo not a bad place to be
tbh he, or the ppl below him at the CDC, were a large part of the problem at first. Deserves to go. And only made his situation worse with poor showings at congressional hearings. Still does not mean the buck does not stop at trumps desk.
Indiana has only had a shade over 1700 people die from this thing so, naturally, we’re speeding up the reopening and allowing restaurants/retail/malls 75% occupancy and gyms & movie theaters to open back up Friday.
it is a red vs blue thing. The idiot at the top of the red people is the one who created this confusion and the little reds have followed his stupidity. It’s crazy to think it isn’t. It shouldn’t be but it has become that.
FWIW Cowell, Nisene Marks, and Wilder Ranch parking lots have been reopened. Thinking about driving up to Felton soon to commune with the Big Trees, get in touch with my inner elf. http://www.redwoodhikes.com/Cowell/Cowell.html
not JUST a red v blue thing. The word just is a pretty important part of the sentence that you skipped. Most people in this country don’t have a side and live their life based on it. They just have no idea what to do because of the poor leadership. Most people in this country would wear a mask if told to for a good reason consistently.
Who would have believed 4 months ago that the world would have almost 5 million cases on May 20th. Such a tragedy
what college is he going to stay at? My top two where (iirc) called college 8 that looks like a New England sea side town or Oaks that looks like a bunch of log cabins. Such a beautiful town and campus. Almost regret not trying to go to Grad school there.
UF is saying they're reopening, but our department is already prepping for online coursework in the fall. On the other hand, the state seems determined to proceed as if the pandemic is already over, so who knows. Opening up universities with 50,000+ students in a few months seems insane given where we're at
