That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure. Day driving is tolerable and I’d guess people have with cottages been up already to some extent
Favorable hearing results which I’m sure will get appealed. Order will likely change some by the time a hearing comes along. https://www.mlive.com/public-intere...overnor-in-lawsuit-over-emergency-orders.html
Not a chipotle fan but for those who care, that Sonic on 11 mile in Royal Oak will become a Chipotle.
Right down the street from me, although jumping on 75 at 11 mile and getting off at 14 mile to get chipotle currently only took me like 7 minutes so its really not much closer. In general I like qdoba better for the queso, but man the quality has been poor of the protein choices in the one near me it seems like almost 50% of the time so I've been going to Chipotle. I like the barbacoa at chipotle
Gonna take forever to fill that up again. That's going to be an awful place to live for the people with homes on it.
Nothing beats Mexican Town, but if you don't want to go to Detroit Taco Tienda on John R in Madison Heights has good authentic Mexican. We also got takeout from Condado one day recently and it was pretty good.
If you want tacos in Traverse City and don't go to Mama Lu's, you are doing it wrong. Happy's in Little Fleet is up there. Spanglish if you want more on the menu and brunch type stuff. Old locals swear by Agave out on Garfield, but never been that impressed. Anyone who tells you Robby's or Red Mesa also thinks Qdoba is of the finest Mexican cuisine out there. For straight Mexican street food, Taqueria TC Dos out on 3 mile. Georgina's is great, but it's a lot more asian fusion type stuff and there is better stuff on the menu than the straight Mexican fare.
I gotta try out Tienda. That sounds promising. Metro Detroit sucks for good Mexican grub. One of things I miss bout Chicago
Go there all the time. Great place to grab lunch and pick up some hard to find grocery items, the take home tamales are also money.
Taqueria La Casita in Wixom has good authentic Mexican on that side of Oakland County. It is inexpensive and very authentic. Not a gourmet place. hoss2183 it is very similar to the low key Mexican places on Ashland in Wicker Park. Better than like counter places like La Pasadita.
Have you been to any of the restaurants in Mexican town? When shit gets back to normal go eat down there. Taqueria El Rey and Lupita's are probably my two favorites. And not on the authentic front, but I love Mexican Fiesta in Canton for people in western wayne County, think there is one in Dearborn too. That's what I miss most about living in RO now instead of western suburbs is Mexican Fiesta and Szechaun. Szechuan destroys all Chinese places anywhere near me in Royal Oak. I haven't found one I like out here. Found some good Thai places, but Chinese around here is mostly garbage. I dont mind Peking House, but thats about it.
Outside of Mexicantown downtown it stinks in quantity and quality. Lots of great food here but Mexican not one of them
SW Detroit is part of metro Detroit and has the quantity, quality, and diversity to rival much larger cities. That alone is enough to make your statement absurd. That said, I've also never struggled to find at least one reasonable Mexican restaurant no matter where in Metro Detroit I've lived. If you're interested in finding out how good Mexican food in this area really is, this Tostada Magazine arricle is a great place to start. https://tostadamagazine.com/2019/05/15/regional-mexican/
As if Michigan needed more bad press, have you guys seen these Jaydon Hayden videos going around today? He apparently has been uploading videos of himself punching elderly people at Walter Reuth. Disgusting stuff. Spoiler: Video
What the fuck. Is this legit? Googling his name just takes me to alt right sites calling him various slurs.
A guy I work with sent me the link to the tweet I posted, I guess Westland police getting a lot of calls about the video today. Twitter searched his name and there is another video on Twitter too but I didn't want to share it because it appeared to be an alt right account posting it and didn't want to link their Twitter account because fuck them too. Apparently these were all posted on this guys YouTube page and he has deleted them and his fb page today.
my childhood fav was Mexicantown Restaurant. I still try to go whenever I'm in town. Not really authentic but damn I love the way they fry up their taco shells and chips. My mom still gets all her baked goods from La Gloria Bakery, and tamales from Evie's come Christmas time. Good scene in SW too with Mutiny Bar, Pizzaplex, El Club etc ...
Looks like police found that dude who was beating up elderly people and arrested him https://amp.detroitnews.com/amp/5237271002?__twitter_impression=true Article says it was a nursing home but then says the 20 year old was a patient at the nursing home....so maybe it's a psych hospital too and the dude is fucked up mentally.
