Shoes in question. 576FA0EE-ED90-4B97-945B-BB7CCA9BF841.jpeg How do 97's fit? I found a green/gold pair I like but the 12.5 is going for a lot more than the 13, If they run snug I can save some cash.

I'm between 10.5 and 11 in most shoes. 11 in those.

I find them stiff and heavy and make your foot look really wide. Much different than an AM1 or 90. I don’t think sizing up would be a bad idea tho. Not a bad shoe at all tho once you wear them a few times. Just fit different.

Go up in size, you want the 13 if you’re a 12.5

I would never do real running in the 270s. I can't for the life of me get them tight around the ankle. Each time I step down in them the ankle opening puffs open.

I don't think they are intended to be for real running. They fall under the "lifestyle" category.

I think the adults are coming with a pattern that helps you do that backwards swoosh on them if you want to.
It looks fine on the toddlers. I dont really like it on the adults.

They just aren’t a running shoe. You can run in them, but long term it could lead to other problems. Not to be that guy (I’m a physical therapist and also have a pair those 270 reacts), but the elevated heel (moreso than your toe) simulates almost like a specific weight lifting shoe. You can run on them for miles and be fine, but most people would have pain develop running over time in those.

there are tons of sneakers I’d never go running in but if they worked for you that’s all that matters. I was shocked because those don’t seem like they’d be good to run in especially not for 4 miles.

They remind me of some Reebok running shoes I had that had air pockets. They were good for the first couple runs but they were shit after that. Anyway if they work for you that’s all that matters.

I had some Reebok’s with a crazy looking bottom that were insanely comfy. Tried to find them online but there was never any hype to them and i couldn’t find them. They looked good imo too. Other than the crazy bottom they had a nice grey color that worked with anything. Of course my fatass never went running in them but they felt like they’d be good for thaf

No. That’s a cushioned sole offers flexibility with heel strike; the 270 react is much more rigid. And I still maintain people can run in whatever they want but there are some shoes that will create problems for some people over time. There are trends for sure, but obviously everyone is different.

Pro tip. Running shoes should be immediately comfortable. Even if they are recommended by some noob at the running store “that does assessments” and they aren’t comfortable, select another pair. I see so many people that convince themselves if they will just “break in” then they won’t hurt. So they run in them, never comfortable, and 3 months later we are talking about why they are running in shoes that suck for them. Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be.

Ultraboosts are by far my favorite workout/running shoe. I have a pair of black 2.0’s that I’ve ran and worked out in since they came out and I still wear them on my runs. I’ve tried ASICS, Brooks, and Nike but I’m just used to the ultraboost now. I would like to try the Nike Pegasus or zoom at some point when I can try shoes on again.
